Hell Revealed 2 map 16 - impossible to get secrets?

I'm currently trying to do a Hell Revealed 2 100% run but I seem to be having some trouble on map 16. Anyways, at the exit of the map, there are two secret areas with openings that have an energy cell pack and a mega armor. The only way to get to these is to get into the caged areas at the beginning of the level, which you just click on the wall to open the area.

The main problem is I can't figure out how to get into the caged areas without the no clip cheat on. Am I missing something in the level to teleport me there or is it just badly designed and impossible to get to them?

Shoot through the cage bars with a bullet weapon.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure why I never thought about doing that. I guess its because I usually expect to see a switch to shoot.
