is XWE anygood?? and how do i edit text lump??

i have download XWE, is it anygood?? how about slade?? which one better??

and i want to edit the text/script of the wad, in order to edit the weaponslot, which editor should i use?

I use XWE and am happy with it. Though I think the majority would recommend you using SLADE.

If you use the XWE beta you should disable it's "Automatically create a backup file when a WAD file is opened" option, because it will mess with any file you open, even if you don't edit it. Be careful with the TEXTURE lumps; XWE can cause glitches in them. Lastly, it can't read TEXTURE lumps made with SlumpEd properly.

Otherwise, and if you have those issues in mind, XWE can be useful due to its interface and features.
