what format should my MP3 be in?

I have this PSX inspired WAD under construction and its time to insert some MP3 files, but since I notice that its a star in the corner to have it in a specific format, I just wonder which format that would be, since many people takes much care in a WAD files size

so a proper format would make everyone more happy I suppose.

Ogg Vorbis is generally the preferred format for non-MIDI music.
