Spitting out map information

I think someone should write a tool that spits out Doom level information, maybe even in a format that would be simple to put into the Doom wiki. Right now tons and tons of pages on levels have empty sections containing information on the number of specific enemies etc in a level. I think this could be sped up considerably if there was a tool to harvest this information.

Presumably, something similar to the "Things" table from this template. But XML is good too, it can be translated with XSLT into something else.
