Domain of Satan (Now with ScrShts!)

Recommended Posts

OKay, my firt TRULY COMPLETED map for Doom 2. I guess I call it Domain of Satan (Actually, its a bit of a facelift for my old Halls of Satan map). I present it in .pk3 format, along with the monsters.wad and the humans.wad which contain all those new baddies. SO yah, you'll need (G)ZDoom in order to obtain a full experience (On vanilla this either won't run or it'll be barren on normal skill levels).

Screenshots!

SO yah, I'll get some screens up soon enough, but for now, enjoy!

I think most people would want to see screenshots before the dowload and try it. Just saying.

Connection Interrupted

The document contains no data.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

Unable to download - though that might be their standard response to ad-blockers.

EDIT Nope - the download server just happens to be a piece of shit.

Um, if its shit, then how was I able to download the file with no objections or anything from your link?

This is odd, the Filebeam download link works when I use an anonymous proxy. I wonder who's blocking who?

Thanks for the alternate link.

I played this with Skulltag.

The first cacodemon encounter was rather dissapointing, because the demon was stuck in the big torches...

I think you need to practice some on making doors look good. They are way to thick and random. The marble texture isn't that good as a door all the time, maybe save those for special occasions. And you need to put the doors inside of the wall, like this:

The map also felt a bit cramped and short. But it was pretty good detailed and all for being a first map. You also managed to make the fights interesting with some columns to hide behind and not just open areas. Work some more on doors and texture alignment. Keep up the good work!

Actually that was a linedef set for -blockmonster or whatever. Unless you found the secret in that room, you really would've had nwhere to go except back, in which case you might not find the door in time, or something...

Alright, just played the level. Its not bad, but also not good either. Visually it was sometimes inconsistent, I found some steel textures clashed with the marble such as under some doors. Texture alignment in some areas was off, but it wasn't too noticeable. Also, the thin door returning to the blue door area was hard to differentiate from scenery. Secrets we're kinda easy to find, even awarding you a megasphere which made beating the level a breeze. The biggest pet peeve I had was the massive amounts of custom monsters which were unnecessary, next time only including one or two in a short map like this would be better I find.

Overall I enjoyed it though, nice short map. Just needs work.
