Adding Texture Packs

Recommended Posts

Hi. I wanted to import some texture files downloaded from this site:

http://www.realm667.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=29&Itemid=152

And am having trouble with the texture pack called:

Adrenix Texture Pack, which preview looks like this:

I downloaded it and the file is comprised of just PNG Images in which to import into your pwad. However, there are problems. How do I go about doing this?

I downloaded the DUKE NUKEM 3D texture wad and merged with my pwad and it worked liked magic, not only did the wads merge but the textures also. Needless to say I am on cloud nine with that wad.

Comparing the two I get these different screenshots in XWE of the 'ALL', 'LUMPS' and 'TEXTURES'

I have given some screenshots here to give a visual aid to my question:

Here is the screenshot(s) of what Adrenix texture pack looks like in XWE:

And here is the screenshot of what the DUKE 3D texture pack looks like in XWE:

Cutting through all the thick of this, my question is this:

How do I import custom textures into my pwad when the files come like Adrenix, and not like DUKE 3D?

(Duke 3D has Lump files, and a texture file with all the textures already contained).

(Adrenix has no lump files, no texture file and thus no textures within that file)

well this is what I would do... having XWE open with nothing on it, open your map, and under the "Entry" tab, click "load" and highlight the desired textures you wish to have in your map. now, within XWE, select all of the textures, right-click and select "Add to Texture". Close XWE and load your map.

I suggest you make a copy of your map before doing this, just incase

=) \m/

I can't help you with XWE because I do not use this tool.

But if you want to take a look at SLADE3, then I have this for you.
