Question about Doomworld

Has Doomworld ever had a spambot attack? Since there's alot of forums that have these problems (maybe mostly newer forums?).

There are occasional posts in the moderator's forum about spambots getting through and making some weird posts, but as far as "attacks" go in the normal sense, where the forums start getting flooded with gibberish, porn, or MB's worth of links to sites that want to install friendly viruses on your system, I can't recall that ever happening.

I guess the spambots are blocked by that white screen asking if you're registering just to ask about running Doom in XP.

Wasn't there a spambot/hacker attack some years ago that replaced all of the forums' avatars with a blue skull and every nickname with some "Nickhacker" or somesuch handle?

You mean NickBakerWorld? All the forums were renamed, avatars replaced, etc.

Why? Wasn't it the cause of NewDoom owner's mental shutdown against any member? Or what do I know...

EDIT: That "blue skull" is actually a little blue guy skiing or something like that.
