john2 Posted February 13, 2002 I'd read in a previous post that Doom3 will run smoothly (3ofps) with full details with a P4 1.4Ghz,GF3 and 256Ram.Is this true? 0 Share this post Link to post
EsH Posted February 14, 2002 Carmack just did a plan file on the GeForce4, which has a lot of info in it. I've heard that they're looking at 256MB of ram as required. Or whatever twice the RAM in the XBox is... No idea about the proccessor. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lord FlatHead Posted February 14, 2002 As far as I know, the absolute minimum system to play DOOM reasonably would be a Pentium III or Athlon with 700+ Mhz, 128MB RAM and a GeForce or Radeon card. I currently have a Pentium III 900Mhz with 256MB RAM and a GeForce 2MX 400. I expect that popping in a top-of-the-line video card when Doom is out (GeForce4 Ultra or beyond that) will run the game fine for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
Phoenix Posted February 14, 2002 I wont worry about it until it's on the market. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lord FlatHead Posted February 14, 2002 Yeah, or at least until the Doom Test is out. We'll see plenty of benchmarks on a whole range of hardware, so there's plenty of time left for decisions like that. 0 Share this post Link to post
Spasmolytic Posted March 13, 2002 All I know is that I'll probably be buying a new computer Just so I can play it... 0 Share this post Link to post
Lord FlatHead Posted March 13, 2002 Spasmolytic, it's not really considered The Right Thing to reply to a thread that is a month old, unless you have something REALLY important to add. 0 Share this post Link to post
