That's actually a good question. Most people just seemed to level skip to that map with the big castle.

No no, I'm a self-confessed ZDoom fanboy and I found that first hub in Eternal Doom IV so boring I still haven't checked out any of the rest of it.

I'm not a big fan of ZDoom levels and still felt the same way. Eternal IV is boring on its own, and just abysmal compared to its predecessor. E4's maps may be physically larger, but they feel so much more tedious to explore, and, honestly, they don't even have terribly exciting architecture a lot of the time.
