absolute favorite DOS shooter enemy-ies

Just an interesting post about your favorite enemies from any game.

Be it the noise, hardness level, size, death, weapons, over all look. What is your favorites?

Mine, for starters-
SS troop (wolf3d) just too classic
Black SS troop (Wolf3d SoD 1-2) looks cool.
Hitler+mecha hitler (wolf3d)classic, and over all look.
Iron Lich (heretic) fun to fight, looks cool.
Maulotaur (heretic/hexen)cool death, fun to fight, over all look.
Ettin (hexen) gibs and over all look
Cyberdemon (DOOM)fun to fight.

Alien Probe (C7)look
Zombies (BLOOD)soccer...
Evil Hands (BLOOD)for building up tension in BLOOD. Other than that, I hate these things.

PowerSlave - Those giant Magma Serpents are pretty badass
Chasm: The Rift - Ant of the Alien Enemies (Except for the Dog one)

Operation: Body Count - lol this was bad...
Star Wars Dark Forces - Kell Dragons maybe
Quake - Those mauler things with the spikes that jump at you are kinda cool
Aliens Trilogy - Didn't get to far, but all the enemies were a pain to fight. Even the humans which took forever to kill.
Blood - Zombies
Duke 3D - Octo-Brains, as Pig Cops were just annoying.

The thing from quake you are talking about is the fiend, right?
The one thats like a monkey with claws and bloodied mouth.

Dogs from Wolf 3d and

Red Alert! The way they munch enemies is pretty lol. Also the way they spin around in circles when they get zapped by a tesla coil.

New games dont have that uniqueness DOS games have.

Wolfenstein (2009) had those "dark priests" that ran around really fast, shot energy bolts at you, and tended to order around zombies. Killing them meant figuring a way past their shield, which often times meant using one of your Veil powers (like Mire...over and over again.)

Not a DOS title, but Jets'n Guns has some cool enemies. You can't go wrong with phallic- and gonad- looking spaceships that say "MACHO" and "MR. LOVERMAN" on them.

I would've but I dont know RoTT specific names.

I like alot of the enemies on it, especially the guy that sounds like crusty the clown.

Maybe you should look at, you know, modern shooters besides the three or four big name western titles you're referring to? There are plenty of shooters that are under the radar in the west that have enemies besides the military.

Best description for an enemy, in any game, ever: "fat naked man in UFO". The description was actually in the game's help docs, so it's not just the creation of a random-ass reviewer. Try guessing what game it is.... hint: it's not a good game.

I think I'd go for the enemy syndicate cyborgs in "Syndicate" or either the skeletal lords or the spiders in "Eye of the Beholder". OK, OK, EoB isn't a shooter, but it is DOS. :P

well all the games feel the same.

Even borderlands doesnt feel all that original or unique.

they all follow the same patern.

Others can amaze you easily (Killzone, resistance, infamous) but they still dont stand out in uniqueness.

My favorite enemy from any game is the illidari council from wow at level 70, because that was the most awesome raid encounter.

My over all favorite has to be The Heresiarch. The Cultists from Blood are another favorite. The Iron Liches and Shambler are also pretty cool. Billy Ray Jeeter and Skinny Old Coot from Redneck Rampage are always good for a laugh. Other then those the Death Knights from Quake where cool. They always remind me of The Chosen from Warhammer fantasy.
