Chocorenderlimits Updated

Recommended Posts

Chocorenderlimits has been updated!

If you don't know what this is: This utility based on Chocolate Doom shows rendering information so you can make vanilla compatible maps and be able to determine why it dies.

If you've used this before: You'll like the new features.

Compared to the old version:
* Visplanes that cause overflows now flash in red (usually ones in the back).
* Actual SEGS count, so even if they overflow you will still see how many SEGS are on screen. No longer stops reporting past 256
* Set Max visplanes on info to 128 as per doom so I could remove the (Doom == 128).
* The max visplanes are now shown, you can use F3 to warp to where the max was encountered and F2 to clear it.
* Force screenshots with F1 so you don't need -devparm
* Cheating in NM/Multiplayer for testing purposes only.
* Logging with F4, dumps the information seen on the screen for future reference.
* Updated to Chocolate Doom 1.5.0 trunk

You can download it here: http://remood.org/?page=chocorenderlimits

Enjoy!

THE FOLLOWING URLS AHEAD CONTAIN OUTDATED CHOCORENDERLIMITS SO DO NOT USE THEM! SINCE CHOCORENDERLIMITS WAS PASSED AROUND IN THE PAST PEOPLE GOT OUTDATED VERSIONS WHICH MUST BE ERADICATED AND REPLACED. THANKS.

If you have access to these URLS, please update your Chocorenderlimits!

The new max-visplane counter is a great feature, and makes it significantly easier to catch near-overflows that would otherwise be easily missed. Thanks for updating this!

Thanks indeed! I had to compile some older version from source a while ago, and was thinking to myself that it could use some of the new features that you mentioned. (Namely the NM/deathmatch cheats and the screenshots without -devparm.)

Thanks again for keeping it updated!
