The Lag Posted April 14, 2011 Birdbrain said:I don't find Merzbow to be all this weird honestly. Sure he has lots of freaky stuff but most of his tracks are rather calming/relaxing imo though I can understand that most people would be puzzled at his music on their first listen, I had the same reaction. yeah, i just meant (because he posted pink floyd and commented on santana, etc.) that for him, and most people, listening to noise is probably pretty weird. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sporku Posted April 14, 2011 If I want something to get my blood pumping, there's one of a couple songs I'll play (in the realm of instrumental music): and then there's King Crimson's instrumentals: And while we're on the track of King Crimson, anything involving Robert Fripp is involved to be some degree of amazing: Gotta throw in some Oceansize too: 0 Share this post Link to post
Katamori Posted May 5, 2011 Recently I've found something which I liked. 0 Share this post Link to post
Remilia Scarlet Posted May 5, 2011 Quite possibly my favorite song ever. But aside from that, I really dig these as well: If you've played DDR, you might recognize that last one. I actually have it on vinyl. 0 Share this post Link to post

DoomUK Posted May 6, 2011 Didn't think that I could use this thread to purge some of my drum n' bass fondness. A classic track:- 0 Share this post Link to post
SYS Posted May 8, 2011 Diablo, & Diablo II had really good atmospheric instrumentals. Karl Sanders has some pretty far out instrumentals. Has a nice atmospheric, gloomy, middle eastern/Egyptian vibe to it. Actually this one technically has some voice but it's like a barely audible atmospheric awwhhaawwaa than actual singing. It's has an extra 2:10 at the end because of the Sony police: 0 Share this post Link to post
Fulgrim Posted May 8, 2011 Transylvania by Iron Maiden. One of if not the best instrumental tracks ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCEfqDadlyo 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted May 8, 2011 I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the main theme from Star Wars. 0 Share this post Link to post

valkiriforce Posted May 8, 2011 SOMEONE POSTED KING CRIMSON MY HERO Also, this was the only studio version of this song I could find: Anyone who knows Flim & The BB's is automatically awesome in my book: I couldn't find this one anywhere so I posted it. Rush! 0 Share this post Link to post
Kirby Posted May 10, 2011 Shit, almost forgot about this thread :x Wanted to post these before it completely slips out of my mind I really like the one by El Ten Eleven. Just puts me in a relaxing mood and makes me forget about the day's worries; perfect song for watching a setting sun (or similar event) IMO 0 Share this post Link to post
valkiriforce Posted May 10, 2011 ^Those are both pretty good songs, Kirby. Nice atmosphere. Couldn't find anything similar, so here's another rock track: 0 Share this post Link to post
Stupid Bunny Posted May 10, 2011 Quadrophenia - The Who Obscured by Clouds/When You're In - Pink Floyd Escape From New York theme Prologue - Loreena McKennitt (technically has vocals, but whatever) 0 Share this post Link to post
Enjay Posted May 10, 2011 This is one of my favourite instrumental artists: Despite the fact that I'm not hugely into classical sounding music, I love his stuff. He has a number of albums of his own compositions and also does a lot of cover versions and, as can be seen from the above, still does a lot of street busking despite having been a reasonably successful recording artist for many years now (including touring with New Model Army). Almost everything he does, he does with loops and fades thereby accompanying himself as he plays. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kid Airbag Posted May 10, 2011 Also surprised no one's mentioned Tolwyn/Klem! Love those guys. 0 Share this post Link to post

My mom would play that CD over and over in her car, and though I always put up the front that I thought it was stupid music, I actually really liked it. Good stuff indeed. 0 Share this post Link to post
Daiyu_Xiaoxiang Posted May 11, 2011 As for me, I got quite a lot of instrumental music I like too, with almost 90% chinese songs, Here are some chinese songs which I like most: Besides chinese, there's also some songs from Metallica which I like. j4rio Posted May 11, 2011 Make sure to have this song played in the background while dooming (while speedrun attempts especially), it's got quite a charming effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnHmskwqCCQ 0 Share this post Link to post
