rabidrage Posted May 5, 2011 So um, in version 1.42 I used caps lock to jump. I like the new features in 1.44 and would like to continue to use it, but for some reason I have to either hit caps lock twice to jump once or set jump to a different, less convenient key. Why does it make me tap it twice?? 0 Share this post Link to post
Megamur Posted May 5, 2011 That's just the funky way Caps Lock works. I usually have to double-tap it in order to toggle autorun on various games/ports. 0 Share this post Link to post
wesleyjohnson Posted May 8, 2011 Keyboard input was changed to use SDL library in DoomLegacy 1.44. Some of the side effects from this are still unknown. 0 Share this post Link to post

Quasar Posted May 21, 2011 Caps-Lock is wonked out in SDL, a well-known issue. Under Windows its behavior is to send a key up or key down event alternately each time the key is pressed. Frustratingly, the behavior is different under Linux - a full set of keyup and keydown events is sent EVERY time the key is pressed. What is the point of an abstraction layer like SDL in the first place if they let shit like this leak through to the end user? For my part, EE's about to be done with using SDL period >_> 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted May 21, 2011 ZDoom uses SDL on Mac and Linux; but DirectX stuff on Windows. 0 Share this post Link to post
