david_a Posted July 9, 2011 Player: Taradino Skill: The 2nd one, Will of Iron God mode: collecting 100 life points, first time I got it Map: Episode 1, first map Save: New save, god mode had already expired when I saved I can try r3249 later, but I don't know why it would be broken, fixed, then broken again if it was a ZDoom thing. May be there's some engine setting that causing this; that would explain why some people don't see it. EDIT: ZDoom does come up with the crash dialog. I saved off the crash report, and I'll make a bug on the ZDoom forum later and upload the report/save game with it. 0 Share this post Link to post
MegaDoomer Posted July 10, 2011 I just ran the first level of E1 the way david_a said (all of what he specified he did is the same as what I did) five consecutive times, saving and loading a new game after godmode wore off each time. One of the five times my savegame was corrupt, and the other four times it wasn't. Unfortunately, that means that this bug's got me - I am unable to find out exactly what triggers it. So yes, I think if you got the crash report it should be sent to the guys over at ZDoom and maybe they will solve this puzzle. ps It still might not be a bad idea, though, to make a "test" level with maybe 200 or so life points and/or several godmode powerups in a single arena. Then players could quickly run it numerous times and keep track of exactly what they did the time(s) the bug occured. 0 Share this post Link to post
david_a Posted July 10, 2011 Well, I made my bug report, so we'll see if they can figure anything out. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fletcher` Posted July 10, 2011 I've also noticed a weird bug where sometimes if you hit certain Lightning Guards, they dissapear instead of entering their pain state or pleading state. I'll take a look at the decorate and see if something akward is going on. Edit: And I think I know what's going on. Its pleading state summons a second actor, the pleading guard, then removes the old one. Sometimes the pleading guard is not summoned correctly. I think this only happens on a step where sometimes it won't spawn. 0 Share this post Link to post
david_a Posted July 16, 2011 According to the changelog Graf Zahl worked on some save game bugs recently, although I don't see any responses to el zee's bug (mine was rejected as a duplicate). The fixes look like they might be related to this issue. Sorry I don't have time to actually test this right now, but if someone is feeling bored tonight... 0 Share this post Link to post
MegaDoomer Posted July 16, 2011 I would test except I don't even know how to trigger it so no matter how many attempts I made I still won't know for sure that it's been fixed. Reference my above post - I did somewhere around five attempts very similar to each other, and one generated a crash while the other four simply didn't. I'm guessing if it was rejected as a duplicate and the problem's still there, you can post about it again; maybe be a little more specific; or forward the posting request to el zee, who is in control of the TC and may know exactly how to word things to avoid making it sound or look like a duplicate. 0 Share this post Link to post
el zee Posted July 16, 2011 I just tried zdoom-r3274(3275), it still doesn't work, however Zdoom won't quit, it gives you a console error instead. 0 Share this post Link to post

Then the best option is to probably make a new bug report post with these most up-to-date details as to the bug's nature. It should be clear that the severity of the bug has been reduced but it has not been fixed entirely. 0 Share this post Link to post
david_a Posted July 16, 2011 el zee's bug is still open, so he can add another post explaining the new behavior. 0 Share this post Link to post
el zee Posted September 17, 2011 Finally managed to fix the save bug, plus there are lots of small map bugs fixed. See the first post or http://elzee.co.nz for download. 0 Share this post Link to post

david_a Posted September 18, 2011 Awesome; hopefully I can finally play it now! How did you end up fixing the save issue? It's probably something that other mod authors should be made aware of. 0 Share this post Link to post

Megamur Posted April 23, 2012 This mod is incredible. You can clearly tell how much love and attention was put into recreating the ROTT experience. The maps are also HUGE and quite detailed, yet still manage to somehow feel like ROTT levels in spite of that. Fantastic stuff. You really did us ROTT fans proud. :) Did anyone ever show this to Tom Hall? He really should know about it. It's a wonderful homage to his work. 0 Share this post Link to post
el zee Posted April 24, 2012 Cheers, I'm glad you liked it. Tom Hall doesn't know about this as far as I know, it would be awesome if he liked it :D 0 Share this post Link to post
