Hi,

Just a quick query to see if anyone knows the credits for the music sound track of Rush maps 8 and 12 (I think the later is from Descent). The The DoomWiki is blank, there is nothing in the WAD readme.

Some references:

https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Rush

I opened the WAD in Slade and found this for each track:

Map 08:

Found by @TheBlurCafe to be "Ghost Town" by Daniel Bernstein!

Spoiler

Map 12:

Remains unknown to me...

Spoiler

Any ideas?

MAP 08 is "Ghost Town" from Blood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd5IAs2CwFM

Unfortunately, I don't know where MAP 12's theme comes from.

Wow, really appreciate it!

The nudge was enough to get me to:

"Ghost Town" by Daniel Bernstein on the Blood wiki!

http://vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php/Blood_(DOS)

Note: I will submit this to the DoomWiki to ensure that the record for Rush is updated.

Much appreciated.

The map12 music is "Grand Design" and was composed by Simon Judd (sirjuddington) for Hellcore.

Fault on me, I mixed the two versions of Hellcore from the wiki and didn't checked the actual wad to be sure.

The correct track name is "Moonlit Journey" and comes from Hardwood Solitaire II (a PC card game from 1997).
Used in Hellcore 2.0, for map11.

Hey folks, I’ve had this riff playing in my head for months but I can’t for the life of me remember what PWAD it’s from. Today I tried to set down the parts I remember in a MIDI composer:

The second track that comes in only plays during the break as I remember but all other details escape me. I’d love to be able to track down the original 🥲

Goodday, everybody! I got something for you. Over the last couple of weeks I've been going through the Ramp2023 soundtrack, looking to complete the listing for the Doomwiki article. It's close to being finished but there are still a few tracks missing. Couldn't find any info on these six tracks in particular, so maybe you guys can help me out here. I'm especially interested in the identity of the soundtrack for map179 and 252, since I'm pretty sure I've heard them before...

Have a listen.

The post.wad samples are of songs by Björk. Based on the title I would have thought they're from her album Post but I don't immediately recognize them. I haven't listened to any Björk in a while though.

Hi! I've been looking to identify these music tracks from Demon Eclipse. I remember speaking to @Amuscaria several years ago and being told they were composed by @Jimmy but, as I've never heard them in any other WAD that I can think of, I was wondering if that's actually accurate... well, here they are! They were .MUS files originally and I've not been able to identify any metadata, nor what the full music track names would be.

Those three were not composed by me. I've been interested in knowing where they're actually from for a good while, now, because I haven't heard them in any other Doom project or from any other source.

I suspect they're VGMusic rips?

Not quite. It's not actually the alert theme nor is it from MGS1. It's a straight MIDI conversion of the main menu theme from the VR Missions. Since that was a separate release, I never played it and never heard this particular theme.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! I don't think I would have recognized it as being from Metal Gear.

I think this is Bouree by Jethro Tull, which is based on Bach's Bourrée in E minor (and sounds like the timing went a bit wonky when converted to MUS, maybe). It doesn't quite match the recorded album version but I imagine there have been a lot of alternate performances of it. And/or it's not a fully accurate transcription.
