Protecting Children from Internet Pornography Bill

Recommended Posts

Technician said:

I'm confident this bill will pass unanimously. They're pulling some sneaky shit by labeling this bill as beneficial to children.

"What, you like our children being exposed to perversion? Pedophile!"

I wouldn't count on it.

Not much support from people for this bill and as far as money trails go, the only organization that supports this bill is the Nation Sheriff's association.

this is just rubbish.

any one can see through this silly trick this wount stop people to do what the goverment dont want them to, the effect that will be is inverted to what expected.

AND IF THEY CANT RESPECT INDIVIDUALS NEED OR THE FACT THAT ALL OF US DONT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND OR THAT SOME OF US HAD A WICKED CHILDHOOD ...

... then they can go STRAAIiiGHT to hell.

since I dont live in america or watch the news regularly I dont have anything else to add than as a whole people of a society/organisation/country/nation you have to be strict, consistent and honest above all, you cant sacrifice the privacy of some million of people in a country because of one but still tragic issue of crime.

I actually belive that the reason for that there are people enjoying kid pron (who can there be wathing my keystrokes who wants to delibertly missunderstand what Im saying??) is because of social harassments, because of youre fat or youre slow or youre an imigrant or you always say the wrong answers or that you accidently kicked the football into the center chick of your class or just because the local bully king think that its funnier to hit you instead of the bit larger kid.

you know what Im saying? such shit can fuck you up so bad that you do this http://www.danielmauser.com/bullying.html

further:

"More important, being bullied does not justify murder; or looked at another way—bullying is not a crime punishable by death."

the thing is that it doesnt matter to the dude/chick who gets bullied what is right of wrong in others eyes, all that matters for them is what they experience and if theyre sensitive, it often becomes quite a roller coaster.

ok all this is so obvious, but its also so obvious that you forget the fundamental basic of human aka Pure behaviour, and thats all that this wolrd needs more of to start with, its not hard to become the local guardian, because you will be supported if you just rise and say: "hell no, thats wrong." and the jerks can hyena laugh themselfes as much as they want because you do whats right, infact the columbia shootings were the results of jerks like those who got shot(ok, they were sadly hardly 2% of those who actually got shot), you dont mess around with people, they get just as angry as you and me.

fuck this is deep to get to the bottom with.

I said all this was coming years ago but I was "paranoid". Hahah. The trends have been so plainly obvious you could trip over them the whole time.

But IF EVEN ONE CHILD IS SAVED...

Coming next, the two-way flat-screen TV! Links up to your local police station and allows them to watch your home! Protects against burglars and pedophiles! Also it can't be switched off - you'll never miss your favourite show!

Yeah I just hope that the good Congress protects us (or just you from US) from such laws by not passing them.

Also coming: All computer monitors and laptops will have mandatory free webcams attached. It will always be turned on and will also be connected to your police station.

And we will repeat this quote in a few more years (if DW is still here ofc) when there's nothing left but mainstream entertainment...which ofc is the whole aim of all this.

Only a terrorist or paedophile would want to do that. The men in black suits are on their way...

By that time there will be a rebellious underground like in Demolition Man.

What's the over/under on the guy heading this operation getting nabbed for child porn?

I had a similar thought earlier today, when I saw an anti-child porn PSA. It stated that 39% of arrested pedophiles have images of children aged 3-5 in their collections. It is evidently someone's job to study and catalogue the contents of pedophiles' hard drives so that this statistic can be calculated. Who is this person? Did he volunteer for the position?

"Oh, you all voted my bill into law? Wonderful! Now, I think someone from the government must be in charge of checking out all the websites for child pornography. Since I had this idea, I think I should be the one to have to bear that burden."

A job with fringe benefits.

They probably hired a female, but female pedophilia is greatly under looked.

I think a job is a job, and that guy was doing it for the wage.

I've seen interviews that implied a lot of the cops doing that job (always cops) either go mental from it or end up with their own pile of it. Meanwhile a separate interview on the radio pointed out that organizations investigating it in Canada aren't permitted to look, so if they find a file that they suspect they have to send it to their counterparts in America to check.

I just don't get why some of these people think they can actually control every aspect of the internet. It's impossible.

My friend's wireless was tapped into and someone downloaded a movie owned by a movie studio or something. So they told her ISP there would be legal action. In fact she has Netflix and could prove she wasn't in her apartment at the time it was downloaded.

So her ISP shut off her net at the threat. They confirmed the movie was illegally downloaded. So her ISP says she downloaded it, but she didn't.

Besides that most porn traders have porn trading friends online that just hook them up. No search needed.

Yeah, that can be a huge problem. Especially if you rent a room and share a wireless connection with multiple people.

It can only get worse before it gets better.

Quick question:

If this bill were to pass, what would be done about websites like DuckDuckGo and Scroogle that don't record search logs?

The search logs may not exist, but your ISP still knows the locations and files you have downloaded, and that's all the cops need to incriminate you.

In EU it's officially legal for people to use someone else's unprotected WLAN without permission. And yeah, there's been a case like the one geo mentioned in Finland too, only that the poor woman whose connection was used is probably going to pay a nasty fine for a crime she never committed (the case is still on, but the Finnish EFF, which is defending her, has a pretty shitty track record to date).

Your ISP knows all. My friend constantly asked me how she can prevent her ISP from knowing what she does. I told her its hard to hide your shit when your ISP is the toilet.

Anyway, her ISP recommended she beef up her password and use a 128 bit browser. What? What would that do? Nothing because once her ISP turned her back in the same thing happened again.

So I told my friend to get a hard wire like I have. No wireless.

The comments on the bill are so retarded, I've broken a sweat just trying to fathom some people's complete ignorance and lack of foresight.

Here is my favorite.

Child pornography is for pedophiles and it's immoral. We need morals and revival.
Lolicon and Shotacon are the biggest problem in a Christian society.
Shin chan for example is a shotacon because of he exposes his dingy and his bare bottom. What a disgrace. Those who be watching Shin Chan should be locked up, labeled as a sex offender, and revoked of the their rights to vote and a job.
Think of the children, people. We need to set morals and everyone needs to know the Savior and His Word.
Please pass this bill so that all anime fans can see The Light.

That's right. This cartoon.

At least the "oppose" side is over 15 times longer.

I'm just glad to have read a few anti-porn Christian commentators even seeing right through this horseshit of a bill. My main concern is people of Senate who are completely ignorant to the how big of a window this bill will open to incriminate people or, at the very least, expose light on a few skeletons.

Also, Imagine if a group like lulsect actually released an ISP archive dox containing embarrassing logs and credit-card numbers.
