jute Posted September 28, 2011 In addition to the fine Doom 64 soundtrack, Hodges also provided a great soundtrack for Sierra's Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, one of the best of the classic adventures. You can listen to oggs here: http://queststudios.com/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=192:quest-for-glory-4-digital-disc-1&catid=61:quest-for-glory-4&Itemid=94 and http://queststudios.com/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=195:quest-for-glory-4-digital-disc-2&catid=61:quest-for-glory-4&Itemid=94 and get MIDIs here: http://www.questformoreglory.com/music/page7.html and http://www.questformoreglory.com/music/page8.html The music is very good, and sometimes similar to the Doom 64 theme (though not to any other D64 music). Some of it would work well in a Doom map. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithran Denizen Posted September 28, 2011 Cool. QFG4 is my favorite in the series after the first game, but I never noticed that Hodges had anything to do with the music. 0 Share this post Link to post
DeathevokatioN Posted September 28, 2011 Wow, some excellent and emotional compositions here. It's stuff like this that makes me miss the 90's even more, aside from early 90's death metal ofcourse. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

I definitely think that 1 (VGA remake) and 4 are the best of the series. I love those low-res painted European forests. I think that, alongside the first Gabriel Knight, QFG4 is probably the apex of the adventure genre. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithran Denizen Posted September 29, 2011 I never got around to playing any of the Gabriel Knight games, myself, though I vaguely remember owning a compilation pack with the first two. If I can't find it, then I imagine they're probably all available on GOG or something. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooM_RO Posted September 29, 2011 Oooh I remember that game!I used to love games such as this one when I was a kid(even though I sucked at them).QFG 4 and the Legend of Kyrandia were my favorite ones.Best stop talking about this or I will drown in nostalgia again :( The atmosphere was perfect in qfg 4 and the music was awesome! 0 Share this post Link to post
