Technician Posted October 18, 2011 And here I thought superconductivity was just a plot device in sci-fi films. Kick ass none the less. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kirby Posted October 19, 2011 Holy fuck that is amazing. I must educate myself on superconductors and the like because that is flat out incredible in my mind. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted October 19, 2011 I remember seeing short video clips of floating magnets back in the 80s when high-temperature superconductors first started appearing. They're fun to see in action though it looks like room temperature superconductors are still some way off. 0 Share this post Link to post

elic Posted October 19, 2011 Holy shit, that kicks fucking ass! ---------- Just looked through the comments and it looks like there's another Theism Vs. Atheism debate going on. Why do these always pop up in the most unnecessary places? Also, "DeepSeaSkateBoard" made a comment. 0 Share this post Link to post

eargosedown Posted October 22, 2011 This has been known about for almost 100 years now. The problem with it is scientists cannot get it to work at ambient temps. While it's pretty cool, it's not much more than a neat trick to show off. If they could get it to work at more normal temperatures, it could revolutionize the way we live. 0 Share this post Link to post
