TAS Doom Episode 1

Recommended Posts

I can't see any point in releasing a bad, ugly, slow TAS movie.

Non-TAS Max record for E1M1 is 0:29, for instance.

Re-Records: 4

With that low re-records count, don't you think it would be greater just to study the levels more and actually do a non-TAS Max movie? That would be something cool to do.

Me, just as Grazza, don't see a real point in doing a TAS movie like this.

In the end this TAS movie needs a bit of work but that will come in time as it's your first try at this. Though I would openly encourage you to do a non-TAS demo of episode 1 as the fastest single player effort is 29:02 and that can be improved a lot :)

Actually, the E1 Max record right now is 18:18 by Stx-Vile (Compet-N record)

Ah fair enough, I always wondered whether stx-vile did an episode max, guess I should have checked the compet-n website before posting the previous comment :P

This is my first TAS, so there's lots of room for improvement.

The idea of a TAS demo is to keep working on it until there's virtually no room for improvement.

Now excuse me, it's time for me to plonk around on the piano for a bit and call it "my first symphony."

Exactly. This is the reason why I'll never release my early TAS movies, 10sector or console DooM for example.

Aw come on guys, I thought all demos were welcome in the demos forum? :)

Well yeah, but if it TAS it should be entertaining.

Of course all demos are welcome!! Main point in my opinion is that he has used only 4 re-records in a 25 minutes demo. That's almost like a real time play. So a question comes to my mind: why not just get more re-records for a better time, or abandon TAS for once?

That's just my way of thinking.
