Couple thought their 14 year old daughter was possessed by demons

Recommended Posts

The text is in Swedish. For a mediocre translation, try Google's translation service.

I just wanted to post this as we all share one common enemy and that is the hordes of Hell. It's not every day you get to find an article which includes the word demon, especially in the Swedish press.

So, being hypothetical, if Doomguy had siblings or perhaps his parents got possessed in some form, what would he do? Or rather, what would WE do?

Suspected to have tried to evict spirits from the daughter
Couple wanted for custody today

The couple from Borås is suspected to have tried to evict evil spirits out of the 14-year old girl.
She were locked into a room so others wouldn't be "caught by the demons".

Today they were wanted for custody for assault and grave violation of integrity.

The whole story was revealed in 2010 as the social services in Borås were served several complaints of the young girls poor mental health and that her parents taken her to Skåne to get help with evicting "evil spirits" from her.

"Surpriced"
But it wasn't until the end of the years the affair was notified to the police and today the 37-year old father and the girls 33-year old stepmother is wanted for custody, for among other things, grave violation of integrity and abuse which is supposed to have been ongoing between the years 2009 and 2010.

- My client is innocent of all charges he's being accused of. He's surpriced over the allegations, says the man's lawyer, Jan Elgmark.

Neither police nor attorney is saying much about the case, but Borås' newspaper has printed a comment from the social services of Borås which is explaining the background.

"Infected by demons"
The first report on the girl being abused in the family home came as early as 2004. But at that time, no investigation was initiated.

It wasn't until 2010, as three reports were submitted within a short time frame to the social services, that the case was picked up for review.

One of the reports was from the children's psychiatric ward which suspected that the girl was being mistreated both physically and psycologically,

Another report were from an educational institution which said that the father has said that the girl had demons inside her and that he was going to take her to Malmö to evict the evil spirits. Among other things she were being locked into a room to avoid others from being "infected" as well, writes BT (Borås Tidning/Newspaper).

Allegedly the girl has also been victim of years of abuse, by way of facial slaps and other punches.

Today, the girl is residing in another city.

The massive pedophile army, otherwise known as the Catholic Church, needs to get inter dimensionally exiled immediately.

I don't care how you get them the fuck out of this dimension, either put them on a giant star ship or open up dozens or hundreds of portals in order for these sub-human weeds to walk through and enter the unknown.

Folks like this couple mentioned in the article are no better than the pot bellied pedophile pieces of Ebola infected filth and they should be severely punished for physically abusing this poor girl.

Wait, where does it say anything about the Catholic Church being involved? Pretty sure it's not the only Christian denomination or religion which believes in evil spirits and exorcisms.

It's the most mainstream one to still officialy and formally codify and practice exorcism, though. It's regarded as apocryphal and even (un)officially condemned or regarded as borderline pagan/unchristian in other major confessions.

doomuk is right, there's no mention about the denomination of the parents. wiki says that religious norway is pretty much lutheran all the way and there's just 1.6% of catholics. so it could've been crazed protestants or hell, even jehovah's witnesses or something.

edit: wtf, how did i get the impression it was norway? disregard my post.

Borås is one of a few places in Sweden where there's a (comparatively speaking) rather large population of people that is part of some form of Free-church. Basically, nuttyville.

My (Protestant Christian) mother and her similarly-minded friends believe in exorcisms. Some of the more higher-ranking members of their church have practised them.

...Exorcisms of houses, not people, I hasten to add. But I wouldn't put it past them to at least consider the idea of exorcising a "possessed person" if someone crazy/helpless/weird/uneducated/desperate enough asked them to do it.

So it is. Huh. It immediately struck me as yet another standard antireligious internet men outlandish claim, but just a little research shows the evidence is undeniable. Truth is often stranger than stuff people make up.

To better understand the status of exorcism in the Orthodox church, it's at the same level as apocryphal scriptures, reports of "miracles" performed by some crazed monk or bumpkin priest, weeping Virgin Mary statues (even though they are mostly a Catholic phenomenon), weeping icons,, miraculous healing icons etc. from which the official Church tends to distance itself, but tolerates people believing in them, with a warning that "this stuff is outside the Church".

You won't find a "mainstream" or high-ranking priest (in particular one that followed a formal ecclesiastical-academic career path) willing to openly discuss, let alone acknowledge and perform an exorcism anymore. However, you may find some lower non-academically trained member of the clergy, usually secluded monks or some "crazy village's priest" or "confessor" who might be willing to perform it.

Maybe I need to talk to my Mum and her friends and get their updated views on the whole exorcism thing. Maybe their attitudes towards it have changed since 15 years ago, when those aforementioned exorcisms of houses took place. It's a Baptist church btw.

And I may well be talking about my ass and misrepresenting them regarding their views on exorcisms of people. I've just always assumed they were down with the concept of it, if not the practice itself. I've also always assumed that they don't HAVE to involve physically (or psychologically) harming the person who's supposed to be possessed, but I may be way off the mark about that too.

I recall several instances wile browsing r/atheism of this type of story. It amazes how there are instances where people have killed their children in the most gruesome ways ever (ie: biting) because someone made the groundless accusation that their child was possessed with a demon. I'm happy this one made it out physically alive, though I wonder how she'll handle everything at an emotional level (I mean, her own parents beat her...)

When I used to watch silly shows on TV about exorcisms, they never seemed violent like this. But then you hear all of the stories of people beating their children in violent ways in attempt to perform an exorcism. People are weird.

It's continually embarrassing than in this age of science and reason, that there are still people that blindly cling to superstition. Have any of them ever noted that no Atheist has ever been possessed?

If an atheist succumbed to some type of mental illness, it could still be thought of as demonic possession by those who are inclined to believe in such stuff. There's probably people out there who still believe all medical ailments are the manifestation of some evil spirit, and must be driven out by a witchdoctor or whatever.

You're correct. Sorry about that. I just thought of that disgusting serial rapist of a pope, Benedict XVI when I read that article.

I can't say that I have ever been "possessed" in my life, but ever since my parents divorce was finalized in July 2001 and 9/11 happened shortly after (I am a Swedish-American with Armenian roots), and twelve years of being bullied, from kindergarten to practically graduation from high school, I have created this horrible, extreme and monstrous form of blood lust inside of me. The thing is, I never ratted my bullies out to either my parents or teachers.

Now that I've written those sentences, I wish that one day, I will release the blood lust from my body, so I, as a soul living in this body, can live a life and live in a world where superstition and physical abuse happening on a daily fucking basis to children, teenagers, adults and senior citizens just because the attackers think that they are "possessed"?

I think I'm going to draw a picture of Doomguy and Duke Nukem looking at a full moon, while thinking for themselves: "Is the moon the first place to set up a permanent base in order for us, mankind, to expand our presence throughout the cosmos and beyond?"

SWEDEN! I was just apologizing for those black metal church burnings only a couple of hours ago. Do not make me think about taking it back.

That was in Norway, mostly. There might have been a few in Sweden.
