wad usage in Risen 3D

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have installed Risen 3D and some of the models and hi rez textures.

Some but few user made wads work but many don't.

I have read that if the wad maker included their own textures then Hi rez textures should be unchecked. which I do but that doesn't solve the problem.

I also searched here and other places but need some help.

If more data from me is required ask and I will post.

Specifically mt question is why won't all wads work?

I suspect you have altered shock.wad which comes with the Risen3D distribution. I say this because your Risen3D.out reported this ...

WAD ERROR FIXED: name BLUEMAP size 8704 between wrong markers

I do not get this in my .out file and BLUEMAP is between C_START and C_END markers.

Do this ...

Fire up the launcher, select the Options tab and check Verbose.

Then give another Risen3D.out report here.

It came to me that the only problem I was having was with Doom. Doom 2 worked fine. I searched for all my Doom.wad (iwad) and found one I hadn't tried. For some reason it worked. The one I am using is

11.8 MB (12,408,292 bytes)

the ones I had been using are

10.6 MB (11,159,840 bytes)

I'm certain then that the ones I had been using are older versions.
The one that worked has E4 levels

Thank you for your help. If you hadn't posted I doubt I would have looked into it anymore
