Apparently Notch is working on a new game that will utilize my education in computer organization and assembly: http://0x10c.com. Perhaps having an emulated 16-bit processor in the context of a game will overcome my laziness when it comes to recreational programming.

I'll buy ten of it. I think it will be emergent gaming at its finest.

Notch is going to make you his bitch again... But seriously, is this like a computer-simulated computer? Trippy. Reminds me of Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3.

It'd probably be smarter to buy 10 shares of it, at least if his company is public yet ;)

lol notch

The cost of the game is still undecided, but it's likely there will be a monthly fee for joining the Multiverse

It could go as far as being able to emulate a wide range of games within the game actually :-). Looking forward to play 0x10c within 0x10c.

Edit: Reminding me this little comics:

Nah, we Doomers have the Boom Computer, designed directly at the circuit layout level and emulating ALL basic logic gates at the stunning speed of 35 Hz ;-)

This looks pretty interesting. I wonder how easily someone could try to make this playable on consoles? :P

Oh, and Quast, your avatar's broken, you should probably reupload it somewhere.

Aside from the fact that this idea has been done before in various ways ..

It's Notch, and it's not exactly a secret he's not the world's best coder. Expect it to be slow and buggy for .. uh, ever, I guess. Unless he hires someone to fix it up after he's done, and even then the underlying base may be too solidified to improve w/o a complete rewrite. It is Java, after all :p
