exp(x) Posted April 5, 2012 Apparently Notch is working on a new game that will utilize my education in computer organization and assembly: http://0x10c.com. Perhaps having an emulated 16-bit processor in the context of a game will overcome my laziness when it comes to recreational programming. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kira Posted April 5, 2012 I'll buy ten of it. I think it will be emergent gaming at its finest. 0 Share this post Link to post
Krispy Posted April 5, 2012 Notch is going to make you his bitch again... But seriously, is this like a computer-simulated computer? Trippy. Reminds me of Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kira Posted April 5, 2012 It could go as far as being able to emulate a wide range of games within the game actually :-). Looking forward to play 0x10c within 0x10c. Edit: Reminding me this little comics: http://twistedspeedo.com/?p=646 0 Share this post Link to post

Planky Posted April 5, 2012 I think the resulting game would be beyond my abilities unfortunately. 0 Share this post Link to post
Quast Posted April 5, 2012 lol notchThe cost of the game is still undecided, but it's likely there will be a monthly fee for joining the Multiverse 0 Share this post Link to post

Blastfrog Posted April 5, 2012 This looks pretty interesting. I wonder how easily someone could try to make this playable on consoles? :P Oh, and Quast, your avatar's broken, you should probably reupload it somewhere. 0 Share this post Link to post
Udderdude Posted April 6, 2012 Aside from the fact that this idea has been done before in various ways .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_War http://www.ceebot.com/colobot/game-e.php It's Notch, and it's not exactly a secret he's not the world's best coder. Expect it to be slow and buggy for .. uh, ever, I guess. Unless he hires someone to fix it up after he's done, and even then the underlying base may be too solidified to improve w/o a complete rewrite. It is Java, after all :p 0 Share this post Link to post
NiTROACTiVE Posted April 9, 2012 Looks like an interesting game, but when will we get some screenshots from this game? 0 Share this post Link to post
