Hellbent Posted April 30, 2012 I, being bored, and in the mood for a dungeon adventure, decided to search the archives for a dungeon themed level and found this little gem. While it wasn't quite what I had in mind (being too open and having generally too much of a doom 2 quality overall) it having nice production values and a well implemented concept requiring interesting stratagems, I found myself liking the level quite a lot, and so thought I'd share it with the rest of doomworld. It's fun to search the archives for lost gems that have fallen through the cracks. If you find a good level from forgotten days gone by, why not share it with the rest of us? 0 Share this post Link to post
Eponasoft Posted April 30, 2012 This makes a damn good dungeon adventure, imo... and is quite unorthodox amongst DOOM maps. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=12035 0 Share this post Link to post

Hellbent Posted April 30, 2012 Well, I am really impressed by this map and am hoping by posting some screenshots people will download it and give this map its due! I think it's really well designed. Great Gameplay. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hZ3ZSunAn9E/T56WgyxFfNI/AAAAAAAACPI/tUPsxgTaUoU/s1600/Screen+shot+2012-04-30+at+9.36.17+AM.png http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6fmEW1C7EYQ/T56WamgUUdI/AAAAAAAACPA/z7cR34VAaqs/s1600/Screen+shot+2012-04-30+at+9.35.42+AM.png http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ln2JEl0H31c/T56WU-cgu-I/AAAAAAAACO4/dx4X63v0YDI/s1600/Screen+shot+2012-04-30+at+9.35.15+AM.png 0 Share this post Link to post

It got posted in another thread like 6 months back or something, and have played it through a number of times since then. And now, an old classic... BLSIDE2.WAD by Scott Harper I would also post a link to a wad called something like "Cor_Hell.wad" but I can't find it. Neither of these are 'forgotten', but it never hurts to keep them in the dooming consciousness either. 0 Share this post Link to post

Dragonsbrethren Posted May 6, 2012 Just reviewed this for /newstuff. 90s wad that really captures the feel of Doom 2. 0 Share this post Link to post

Megalyth Posted May 9, 2012 Here's a fun map I remember playing a long time ago. It's one of the few single-map old WADs that I remember the name of. I think I may have come across it on a PC Gamer CD or something. http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11146 0 Share this post Link to post

I suppose you guys notice the date on this one. 1 month and one week after doom 2 came out. Pretty impressive. It doesn't get more classic than that. I found a megasphere and died while trying to get some mancs, chaingunners and cacos infighting in a cool gated pit area. A cyberdemon rocket found its way to me from one of the teleporting towers. O_O Was this map revamped in one fo the '94 revamp projects? 0 Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted May 9, 2012 Yeah, BLSIDE2 is great. I recently played Oracle..., also by Scott Harper and Jim Flynn. 0 Share this post Link to post

Unless this is a wad from the 90s that is way posthumously uploaded to the archives. I like it. Definitely deserves more than 2 stars which is its current rating. I died, but I will try again now. I'll check out oracle soon. 0 Share this post Link to post

glenzinho Posted May 11, 2012 Drip Feed http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=16084 Just played this now, EPIC! Noticed it won a 2010 Cacoward, I'm new on this scene! Just play it if you haven't yet. 0 Share this post Link to post

On map01 I iddt'd for the one where there are 3 winding hallways and a long wall with sky texture, cuz I thought I was stuck, and I looked in doom builder for that damn teleporter puzzle. On map03 now. 0 Share this post Link to post
glenzinho Posted May 11, 2012 ic2005 http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=14025 Must be my lucky day!! First Drip Feed and now ic2005, a couple of files I had sitting on my hard drive for a couple of months. This one is also a Cacoward winner in 2006... excellent stuff and superb design. 0 Share this post Link to post

TimeOfDeath Posted May 14, 2012 I liked Puzzler, thanks. :) Extreme Evil Execution - screenshot - detailed outdoor/indoor cavern/base 0 Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted May 30, 2012 Warriors of Spider - great 5 map wad from '96 (map04 & 05 are epic), I was surprisingly the first to vote on that wad. I kept my weapons after each map. Also, I dare someone to max-movie this wad: 32.wad (or even fda-movie it) 0 Share this post Link to post
