Vordakk Posted May 10, 2012 His wikipedia page was enlightening for me. I never knew that he wasn't related to John Carmack at all. Nor did I know that he coined the term "gibs". Sounds like a cool dude. 0 Share this post Link to post
Technician Posted May 10, 2012 He's not very public. I don't think he's ever given an interview, has he? 0 Share this post Link to post
Marnetmar Posted May 10, 2012 Kevin Cloud's still around and still works at id. No idea about Adrian though. 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted May 10, 2012 The art in Doom is epic... is why I made this thread. 0 Share this post Link to post
yellowmadness54 Posted May 10, 2012 Adrian left ID, aswell sued them for something, I believe. 0 Share this post Link to post

He claimed his company shares buyout was worth somewhere around forty-million instead of his fourteen or so million deal becasue, at the time, Activition was buying id. The Activision buyout fell through, so they rendered the case moot. 0 Share this post Link to post
DELETE-THIS-ACCOUNT Posted May 10, 2012 John Carmack and Kevin Cloud are the only OG members left at id. By OG I mean all the way back at Softdisk. EDIT: Adrian bailed out in like 2004. Who knows where he is. 0 Share this post Link to post
Carnevil Posted May 10, 2012 Early on in Wrack, Bobby suggested bringing him on board since he thought working on something pretty Doom-like would be right up his alley. Sadly, neither of us could find any way to contact him. 0 Share this post Link to post

I always figured he was always the bloody gorey demented torture type of guy. But that's just speculation. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted May 10, 2012 Or at least, he was 20 years ago. Back when he started getting tired of the kiddy cartoony Keen universe. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kira Posted May 10, 2012 Also, video games weren't his thing IIRC. We owe him a lot for the gory fest anyway. 0 Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted May 11, 2012 printz said:I hope he sticks around, because he seems pretty much to be the identifiable actor playing Doomguy, correct? I want to shake his hand so badly. I would never wash it again. I remember I think it was the postmortem where he was speaking I just kept starting at his hands. Doomguy's hands. Also, the new Adrian Carmack picture on doomwiki.org is way different than what I thought he looked like. I always saw the picture of him from behind with his long black hair making the clay model, so I always pictured him as a stereotypical goth kid. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kira Posted May 11, 2012 This picture dates from when he was working on Doom 3, right? Who knows how he looks like now... we could be even more surprised. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lila Feuer Posted May 11, 2012 DuckReconMajor said:so I always pictured him as a stereotypical goth kid. wat. Ditto on the shaking hand part though. Though, I think I'd be violently assimilated by my raging nerd boner if that happened with John Romero. 0 Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted May 11, 2012 I don't think Romero's boner was in the game though. Oh wait 0 Share this post Link to post
Nomad Posted May 11, 2012 Romero's boner looks an awful lot like someone's hairy arm! 0 Share this post Link to post
Touchdown Posted May 12, 2012 Kevin Cloud is a project leader for DOOM 4. 0 Share this post Link to post
_bruce_ Posted May 12, 2012 Hahaha Putting the s in sexy. Adrian is one of my favorite artists - great design and polished approach. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomUK Posted May 12, 2012 As much respect for these guys that I have, that's the awkwardest photo I've ever seen. 0 Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted May 12, 2012 I disagree. That's probably one of the best pictures I've seen of them. 0 Share this post Link to post
