My First Wad - Eclipse

Recommended Posts

Eclipse was my first wad and I released it some time ago. It's a 100% oldschool gameplay, with very simple detail focusing more on the map design. It's 19 levels, most of them with themes like E1 or the first levels from Doom 2, and the laters with more E2 feel.

I really like some levels, but others ones can be a bit repetitive for some players. (if you are one of them, I suggest to skip levels 08, 11, 12 and 14).

No new monsters, items or weapons, some new texture. Should run fine in gzdoom.

Looks interesting, any chance of prboom-compatible version appearing? Looks like all you need to do is fix a few texture errors:

R_InitTextures: Missing patch 509 in texture ROCK
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 515 in texture INDOOR7
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 516 in texture INDOOR1
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 517 in texture INDOOR2
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 515 in texture INDOOR7
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 516 in texture INDOOR1
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 517 in texture INDOOR2
R_InitTextures: Missing patch 526 in texture SKY3

Great stuff, looks very simplistic but somehow still fun to play. I've recorded my first playthroughs of maps01-07, here is the demos: http://speedy.sh/6AE5N/eclpseii01-07.zip (watch with prboom or other doom2.exe-compatible port)
I might make more if you're interested.

Thanks! I would love to see the demos for others levels =D

Wow, you play very well, Memfis! It´s really good to see someone playing a wad you created, and can see some problems that's not soo easy visible to you, like the little ammo in level 4. But it was nice to see how the things were handled differently, especially when the player isn't noticing some traps or find some secrets. You used the monsters in-fighting a lot too.

The level details are really simple, but i like more to focus on design than visual itself.
