printz Posted June 3, 2012 Do modern Doom utilities like SLADE3 allow a lump to overlap the directory info table? This way, if you modify the contents of the lamp wherever the overlapped part of the table is, you'll also modify the structure of the wad, in a controlled manner. Too bad this trick couldn't be done inside Doom because everything just gets loaded into memory. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted June 3, 2012 No, not at all. It'd actually be rejected as a corrupted WAD. 0 Share this post Link to post
printz Posted June 3, 2012 Same goes for lumps overlapping each other? Or lumps overlapping the header. 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted June 3, 2012 Of course. Why would you ever want to do such stuff? No lump manager could write it back reliably. 0 Share this post Link to post
