Are there any other Wad that adopt the "Suspended in Dusk" approach? By that i mean difficulty dependent player start, i know SiD had you start in various locations based on the difficulty you picked. I'd love to see that concept approached more often in wads nowadays. 1. Also a general request rather than a specific one (as in "I remember playing a wad with X and Y, but forgot its name, does anyone know it?"), I think it could have deserved a new thread. 2. The premise can't be true, because player start things aren't affected by difficulty settings at all, instead the engine behaves as if all player starts had all difficulty flags set. 0 Share this post Link to post

Hmm is that so...i swear i remember playing a WAD where i started in a different location if i played on HMP and UV. Obviously i'm not gonna say you'Re wrong but i know it isn't my imagination. Thank you for the response though, Scifi. 0 Share this post Link to post

Now this is specific! :) I checked out Suspended in Dusk, and it doesn't seem to have anything like that. However, joe-ilya made this map, where the player starts in a small room with a teleporter that takes him to different places according to difficulty, thanks to teleport destination things having different difficulty flags. Memfis mentioned another wad that used the same trick in joe-ilya's thread. 0 Share this post Link to post
Voros Posted February 10, 2016 I'm sorry if this request is too much or unavailable, :( , Looking for Brutal Doom v1 (less than v10 at least). 0 Share this post Link to post
Octavarium Posted February 10, 2016 Years ago, I played some crazy thing that replaced a lot of sprites and sounds. I think it had imps riding cacos or two headed chaingunners riding them or something ridiculous like that, or I might be mixing/misremembering different mods on that... But the main thing I can definitely remember is one of the two hell nobles had an afrit-esque reskin and the death sound was replaced with a hilariously crude sound bite of someone yelling "Raaaahh, fuck you!" I believe it had new maps, maybe in a city style, not too sure about that though. Very specific and helpful description, I know 0 Share this post Link to post

I wish i could remember what i desacribed but i'll give this level a choice, thank you again. :) 0 Share this post Link to post

scifista42 Posted February 19, 2016 NORDHELL and NORDHELL, 2 wads with the same name by the same author released around the same time, but actually quite different from each other. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted February 24, 2016 Looking for quite a few old ones, I know the chances are slim, but why the heck not. I've listed their original source as I'm sure if there's any chance of finding these wads, that will help. "killfest.zip", "nazi.zip", "hell.zip"(horrible name) all listed here - http://web.archive.org/web/19990202201539/http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/3814/doom2.html There's mentions of some Barry Creek doom releases, but I don't seem to be able to find anything - http://web.archive.org/web/20000831024118/http://www.calweb.com/~brn "btchn97.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19981202151058/http://www.interlog.com/~symcon/bitchin/ "bhs_doom.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19990116232024/http://http.tamu.edu:8000/~etw8236/bhs_doom/bhs_doom.html (also asked for here years ago, lol https://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/5238-looking-for-old-doom2-wadpak/ ) "ship.wad", "a_sewer.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/20010508100611/http://www.geocities.com/timessquare/2598/mydoom2.htm "shmo10.wad" Shmoland Doom? - http://web.archive.org/web/19990116230851/http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/3420/doom.htm "blumon.wad", "ahaunt.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19981202025756/http://www.z.lanbib.se/~thomas/doom2eng.htm "deathrealm.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19961220031239/http://www.serve.com/~jafar/doomlevels.html "maquis.wad", "atlantis.wad"(not the heretic one on idgames) - http://web.archive.org/web/19990202110430/http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/2176/ "doom2atc.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19981203134005/http://members.aol.com/doomcave/ (these are all different than the ones on /idgames, so the chances are slim..) "cathedrl.wad"(not this one as it lists the wrong author), "freefall.wad", "squid.wad", "fudge.wad" etc etc as well as "!zwaded.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19970710160533/http://www.chembio.uoguelph.ca/driguana/doom2.htm "dmult.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19981205125409/http://www.hooked.net/users/emileise/index.html#DOOM "aoddoom" - http://web.archive.org/web/19980208014648/http://sch-www.uia.ac.be/u/maes/aoddoom.html "toondm.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19990418082022/http://www.where.org/~pepe/doom/toondoom.htm "samsly1.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19990222155059/http://mars.execulink.com/~ielapi/friends.htm "tnlsofun.wad" - http://web.archive.org/web/19970617185515/http://www.vivanet.com/~pecora19/download.htm there's a "grey.zip" here that isn't zrchived, but that's not very helpful.. Maybe someone recognizes the screenshots, though I doubt it - http://web.archive.org/web/20000531003431/http://www.galstar.com/~optimus/wads/index.html "pillarz.wad", "kastle.wad", "wupass.wad" and more - http://web.archive.org/web/19990501162311/http://users.aol.com/jwjanko/lev.htm -- There's even more but I think that's more than enough mystery wads for now. I've also uncovered no less than 35 WADs that were never archived anywhere but on these obscure old Doom sites. Makes you wonder just how many wads that were uploaded somehwere at some time are now gone forever! Thanks to anyone who can recover any of these. If a filename is already on the archive, it isn't the right noe - I checked it against the Author names. Some of these look like pretty extensive mods, while some are just single maps. It would be nice to recover them. 1 Share this post Link to post

NeedHealth Posted February 29, 2016 I read in the wiki that there is wad with a key that runs away when you try to grab it. I had a good chuckle at that cartoonetwork skit like mental image. But now I can't find what wad it was. 0 Share this post Link to post

Miguel Moura Posted March 2, 2016 I once played a single level wad which had an insane amount of monsters. It was a round level that kept unfolding (the circle got progressively larger). I remember a certain section of the level had like 5 rooms (maybe in the form of a pentagram) that had lots of monsters in them and in the back of the room there was a door leading to another similar room and the monsters would get progressively more difficult (It'd start with imps/demons and it would end with revenants and mancubus). I hope you can help me with this one. Been looking for it for ages!! 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted March 2, 2016 Maybe Nostril Caverns, although it has many more rooms than 5. 0 Share this post Link to post

Shanoa Posted March 9, 2016 Trying to find a small mapset Dutch Doomer created a few years ago, all i can remember from it is it was "Quake inspired" in its textures choice. I'm afraid i can't be more specific. 0 Share this post Link to post

Mcac22 Posted March 10, 2016 Hey guys still new here. Can't post my own thread yet still under 24 hours. I am a big fan of doom, have been playing since 1999 (5 to 6 years old that time) but I have a small weird and don't know where to look issue. I did the whole project brutality thing and did everything correct well so far. My issue is the keys, when I pick them up they don't appear in my inventory and I can't open any key needed door. When I open the console to add keys it works but I don't want to do that, I want to play the game properly. Any help?? Would be great. Ps: I did follow the steps in the manual of project brutality. I saw in his "this is what a good loadout looks like" there is a fix_11 don't know if I need that?😞 0 Share this post Link to post
