The Official 'Trying to Find a Specific WAD' Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi! This one is an extreme longshot, but I thought I'd try anyways.

In the linked readme, the author makes mention of a WAD called 'lostcity.wad' by Rob Fowler.

https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/j-l/lostcit

This author doesn't appear to be on /idgames or any other archive I've checked...

Any help will be highly appreciated! :)

Try this

LOSTCITY.ZIP

The author is Bob Fowler

That's got to be it! Wow, thanks a lot - and so quickly too! :D

I tried searching variations on Fowler's name on /idgames, but I truly don't think he's on there.

Thanks again!

You're welcome! Enjoy! ( I found the wad in a Amiga Format Shareware CD :) )

Hi. Do you know where I can find Dm2falls.wad as a stand-alone level for Doom2 by Eric The Great ? It was featured in Dm2levs.wad. I’ve been after it since late 1995 !

Also I’m looking for Doom3.wad by Michael Daniels. Does anyone know where I can find it ? Hope you can help.

Hi, I'm looking for 'akira1.wad' by Orin Flaharty. It was mentioned in: 'Deathmatc [sic] Ratings', an old excel document detailing 'good' deathmatch WADs from 1994-1996...

I'm also looking for bob12.wad, bob13.wad, and bob14.wad by Gigabob. Circa 1994-1996, as well.

Any help will be appreciated. I'm sure I'll find more to ask about, as I progress through this spreadsheet.

Awesome!

I didn't know what his real name was, only his username, so that makes sense why I couldn't find it...

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Edit: Didn't see @thestarrover's post! Thanks as well! :D

Are there any other wads you need tracking down ? Let me know...

I'm looking for the v1 version of this WAD: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/deathmatch/a-c/buttv2

Also, all of these:

(these are all the same era, 94-96)

csdm_57b.wad by unknown

dascott3.wad by Darryl Scott (I think)

dawgalot.wad by William Engdahl

deathmch.wad by unknown

dm_xyno.wad by Ludo Texier

dilweed2.wad by Matt Evans

Thanks for the offer to help, I'm sure I'll encounter more as I move down the list more...

You're really hooking me up quite nicely!

I'll get back to you when I find some more questionable WADs I need.

This is really helpful, especially the v1 version of butt.wad - I've been looking for that one for a little bit...

Thanks!!

Hi people, somebody have a copy from eu4b.wad? Wad-archives announce it wrongly as an Iwad, and no download link is provided

https://www.wad-archive.com/wad/101fafcf8419845320d89752bc7198dfe2ff6f35

Thx!

You might want to ask the user 'WadArchive' they might *possibly* be able to fix that link for you; I don't know!

I too, am now interested in this WAD.

I am wondering if you can help me.
Jeffrey Steelman made a level for Heretic called Fortress.wad. In the text file he refers to it as ‘a remake of an old favourite’. Which Doom level does it originate from ?
Hope you can find a solution. @Doomlover77

@thestarrover Also the text file for Resvdogs.wad by Jeffrey Steelman has the same reference. Maybe he liked converting old Doom wads !

Resvdogs - Scanyon.wad converted from Doom

Drome - Coloseum.wad converted from Doom

Fortress - ?.wad converted from Doom

the screenshot of MAP01 is the starting room from Erik Alm's Europa 3. the filesize is pretty much the same as the unzipped eaeuro03.wad, too.

Today I was able to track down, from an archived page of doom2.net, the eub4.wad. As @kmxexii said, MAP01 is Europa 3 by Erik Alm, eaeuro03.wad. The maps seem to be identical and the only difference I noticed is the timestamp: eaeuro03.wad (on idgames) is dated 03/29/2002, instead the last revision of eu4b.wad seems to be 07/26/2003 (on doom2.net)

MAP02 doesn’t work. According to the GZdoom console “the map has no vertices”

Since no text file is available, I don’t have any additional information about this wad, so take it as it is. :)

Very interesting!

Maybe is this the fortress.wad for doom you are looking for?
