Doomworld ranks?

I have noticed my profile has changed its "rank" from like (for example) "beginner" to "only to make one post"(i know those arent the real titles im just giving examples.) and now its "green marine" And what I am wondering is if it changes over time or do you do do something to get it changed??

Or admins change it based on their thoughts of you.

That's easy. All you need to do is post something like "Compared to Duke3D, Doom is a steaming pile of elephant dung!!".

Based on what I've read, messing with post counts is one of the cool things you can do when you're an admin.

Not sure if you're being serious, but I'm pretty sure it just stays the same.

As for post hell, I'm probably wrong, but I thought those actually still counted toward your post count.

No. The post's counted before the thread (or part thereof) is consigned to hell.

Apart from an accidental triple-post, the only times I recall my post count going down was as a result of spam/porn/goatse threads being deleted. May I hasten to add that none were started by me. :P
