Memfis Posted July 31, 2012 [1] - this is how the automap of my level in progress looks like at the start of the game. [2] - and this is how it looks after I move around a little without making any noise. Notice how one of the monsters in the north-west circle shaped room has started to move. He obviously couldn't hear me because I didn't make any noise, and he shouldn't be able to see me either. I'd like to know more about this phenomenon. What is this, some nodebuilder glitch? Do all nodebuilders have this problem or maybe it's time for me to switch from ZenNode to something else? I had this problem before on some other map and somehow fixed it by moving random vertices. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted August 2, 2012 Probably something like this. (?) http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Sleeping_Sergeant_of_Doom_II_MAP02 (there's also technical explanation) 0 Share this post Link to post
MasterofJKD Posted August 2, 2012 It could also be a slime trail or something from one of the vertices which then allows the monster to see you for a short time and then become active, also make sure that both sectors, the sector that you are in and the one the monster is in is not "joined" in some way, as in go into "make sectors mode" and click that sector. Maybe this will help. Hope it works, good luck. 0 Share this post Link to post
dew Posted August 2, 2012 an earlier version of one of vader's btsx maps had this bug, except it was a revenant in a different room and he knew about you immediatelly. i tried moving him around and he remained dormant anywhere else - actually he only woke up inside the original sector AND if his original position lied on X=-128 (no matter what Y was). 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks, I moved him a little on the X axis and it fixed the problem. Two days ago I already tried to move him but I guess I only changed his Y coordinate. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
