The Lag Posted August 2, 2012 Anybody else dig this chick as much as me? Doom-folk...GO: All the parts of me that lived inside Are drowning in the sea of waking life They don't know their colors don't belong on the outside They don't know their colors don't belong Til they're spread across the open road Til they're spread across the asphalt on the open road Til they're streaming in the wind like cassette tape or jellyfish Long dark veins and records playing memories All the things we yell don't mean a thing When we're spinning out on dark and metal wind When we're flying like blue Mary's angels through the shattered glass When we find that tall dark shadow waiting there with outstretched hands He has given me a dress of red and you a skin of gray We'll be twisting here for hours 'til the light will bring us day And we're spread across the open road And we're spread across the asphalt on the open road And we're streaming in the wind like cassette tape or jellyfish Long dark veins and records playing memories 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted August 7, 2012 The Lag said:Anybody else dig this chick as much as me?\ Yes. I really like this music, especially the second clip. I don't hear the metal influence at all--the only reference to metal I see in the video is the dark eye liner and dark clothing. EDIT: listening to the first video now. I don't particularly care for the metal baseline, but her--she is fantastic! I love doom--always have--never had any affinity to doom and gloom, guns or metal, culture at all, tho. Oh, except for maybe this, which I think is just frickin' awesome. Nice music, thanks for posting. Really, this is just the kind of emo/indy crap I'm always searching for but rarely finding. She is really loverly. Extremely talented and resonating just the sort of emotion and sound I look for in musical expression. 0 Share this post Link to post
Vorpal Posted August 8, 2012 I'm liking this. Never know what to expect from one song to the next, a lot of different styles. Maybe a bit melodramatic in the lyrics department (poetry generally makes me roll my eyes), but a nice hypnotic voice. edit: after further listening, getting annoyed at the almost constant use of distortion effects on voice/instruments that make it sound like it is coming through a telephone... 0 Share this post Link to post
