So I learned that Lance's mother was only 17 when she had Lance. So I think to myself, maybe that contributed to him being such a superstar; his mother being young and thus her genes would replicate better or something. So I google 'healthiest year to give birth' and got this disturbing article:

The "Father" column is horrible. "Her 69-year-old maternal grandfather", "A regular 32-year-old client, imposed by her parents who prostituted her.", "Rev. L. W. Irwin, her stepfather, charged with contributing to her delinquency"...

Also: World’s youngest granny is just 23, according to tabloid rag The Sun. Ask.com has an even worse answer, 17 years.

Well that second article is dated Dec. 1957, and the doc had observed a few other cases before. It wasn't completely unheard of, even before the widespread use of growth hormones in farming. It's just very rare, but almost anything is possible...
