New Project: Rain Temple

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I'm really new into Doom modding and I would like you people to know the project i'm currently working on. It's called Rain Temple and it'll be a medium sized map with custom monsters, weapons and music.

Here are some new screenshots. I've deleted the old ones as I redone it from scratch. Thanks

I would consider choosing a different theme that GSTONE is really out of place on that map.

I don't think there's much sense of scale either everything looks oversized.

I think part of your problem is your not building up your maps structure enough before doing detailing. What I mean by this is you need to take into account physical properties of what your building. For instance is a building sitting on top of a concrete slab? Whats the below the slab? Dirt? Bricks? Rocks?

Consider your textures materials not textures I'll give you a quick example.

Try and consider your maps like this, when you see a wall with GSTONE it's more than a texture those bricks have dimensions they're not just flat!

Some of these screenshots give me a little Super Mario World vibe, maybe because of these brown mountains and that blue sky.
So far, this looks like one of those more "adventurous" exploring maps that need to be made more. :D
I`m going to play this when it comes out!

looks neat. the architecture is simple enough that some cool lighting and shadowing effects would be easy enough and really enhance the atmosphere.
