Slade Posted September 15, 2012 http://speedy.sh/pwsQc/OLDSCHL1.zip Screen: http://i.imgur.com/f0sRR.png?1 Replaces MAP01, only takes 3-4 minutes to complete. Feedback regarding thing placement/gameplay would be great! 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted September 15, 2012 Very nice and clever design and gameplay. Are you some legendary mapper/speedrunner under disguise? Demo of my playthrough. Don't laugh at the moment where I take 3 mancubus hits: my mom distracted me. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted September 15, 2012 Couldn't download it. SpeedyShare kept telling me I had to get an account. Even MediaFire isn't that annoying. 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted September 15, 2012 The download link is at the very top of the page, Gez, right above the star rating. 0 Share this post Link to post
SFoZ911 Posted September 15, 2012 I really liked it, oldschool with intresting monster placement. 0 Share this post Link to post
Xaser Posted September 15, 2012 Holy bejeezus, where's all the ammo? D: 0 Share this post Link to post
vdgg Posted September 15, 2012 I liked it. Is it intentional that a door requires a blue/red key only from one side? Monsters can open that door for you. 0 Share this post Link to post
pavera Posted September 15, 2012 Bravo! Thrilling and meticulously balanced. The layout was original and fluid, and not once did I feel I was simply going through the motions. Legitimate old school PWAD vibe as well, rather than simply trying to pass off ugly texturing as "classic". Great stuff, do want more. 0 Share this post Link to post
Slade Posted September 16, 2012 Thanks for the comments. @Memfis Nice demo, you even found the secret exit! Also props for getting the potions. @Xaser -skill 3 :) @vdgg Yes, there is a shortcut to the blue room(blue key not needed). There are only 2 sectors marked as secret, both of them are secret passages rather than areas, but there are plenty of other hidden stuff (did this for demo recording reasons). 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted October 18, 2012 Well done! I like the connectivity that allows you to access areas from different points and open some parts as you go, somewhat like in a deathmatch level. Good monster placement, too. Here's an FDA, recorded with vanilla. It's longtics, so you'll have to apply the "v1.91" hack to view it with vanilla itself, or use Chocolate/PrBoom+.oldschl1_myk.zip 0 Share this post Link to post
