Then again, sometimes it's the companies fault people need to pirate their programs, but whatever. I really don't mind XP-style program unlocks as long as the unlocks pass regulations which prove they don't do anything besides unlock the program. 0 Share this post Link to post

I get half my mp3's from US frikin servers, this is ultimate bullshite. Glad I don't live there though. The firewall will probably be useless though, how will they automatically install this firewall on comps that don't have it? People need to fight back at this, this is just plain wrong. 0 Share this post Link to post

I annotate "conservative" with "cynicism", "conceitedness", and "thick-skulled", so to speak. 0 Share this post Link to post

No, the liberal media blew the fact that the kids involved in most of the violent shooting played violent games. They didn't, however, say anything about the way they were raised. I don't think that games do anything more than provide an outlet for this stuff. In my mind, it was the way the parents of these kids treated them, as opposed to the way they entertained themselves. I annotate "conservative" with "cynicism", "conceitedness", and "thick-skulled", so to speak. Yeah, well fuck you too. I tend to lump "liberal" in with terms like "two-faced", "morally reprehensible", and "lowbrow". DC 0 Share this post Link to post

Crendowing Posted March 26, 2002 Originally posted by Doom-Child Yeah, well fuck you too. I tend to lump "liberal" in with terms like "two-faced", "morally reprehensible", and "lowbrow".Well, to me, "morality" is something that the Christians made up. In a true existence, there'd be no such thing; as IMJack put it, I'm my own person. I do what I feel is right for ME. Fuck the laws, screw religion; don't get in my way, and I won't get into yours. Is that not what the basis of this country was supposed to be in the first place? (it might help if this thread was moved to R&P) Also, probably the only real reason I'm a liberal is because I don't want to be like my dad, who is a dumb-shit, hardass brute who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'privacy' and thinks that anything that doesn't work a certain way is idiotic. He's registered as a republican and is on the side of those parents' groups that support antiviolence. Most of the music I listen to now I couldn't listen to 3 years ago when I was listening to it; he claims it's "stupid, idiotic, and only for 'punks' to listen to." It's no wonder I'm so messed up...had it not been for him, I might actually agree with you all, but I guess I don't see the light. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted March 26, 2002 Meh, there's nothing liberal about the 'liberal media'...or democrats for that matter. They all want to control us like clones. But the point is, this bill is total crap. Who are these fuckers who don't want their stuff pirated? Like I would care. When I have my band, I WANT people to download and trade my songs. Fuck, its just more publicity for me. Speaking of which, I should probably find some webspace so I can upload my shit. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doom-Child Posted March 26, 2002 Regardless of my religious stance (I won't go there), I think morality can be broadly defined for everyone. Morality is the most base set of "rules" that everyone adheres to. Law is a man-made institution, I think that everyone has some kind of moral sense. Like a conscience. Do you consider it "wrong" to kill someone? Why? Because the law says so? Well, the law also says that women cannot drive in the city of Memphis unless a man is in the front passenger seat (it's true!). I see plenty of women driving alone in my travels between home and school (which take me straight through Memphis), so the law must be flawed somehow. It's flawed in that it has to be enforced upon people. I think morality is the set of guidelines you're willing to enforce upon yourself. DC 0 Share this post Link to post

They LET the law think for them.Do you consider it "wrong" to kill someone?I know it goes on, but I'll just answer this real quick: cold-blooded murder doesn't seem right to me, but self-defense does if it ever reaches that point. But I believe in the martial arts philosophy; use ONLY enough force as necessary and walk away. Why? Because the law says so? ...the law must be flawed somehow. mmnpsrsoskl Posted March 26, 2002 Voting is gay. I don't usually side with anyone (here in Australia) so when it is tie for me to vote, i'll just make it null. By the by, it is compulsory here in australia (which is totally gay). 0 Share this post Link to post
spank Posted March 26, 2002 You're lucky you have the right to vote, so you might as well do it. Many people here in Portugal still don't, but they forget that this country had to live with almost fifty years of a fascist regime. I.E. several folks were tortured and/or killed fighting for freedom and now that it is a reality, lots of dumbasses are awfully ingrateful when they refuse to vote. 0 Share this post Link to post
GooberMan Posted March 26, 2002 It's only compulsory to show up and get your name marked off in Australia, once that's done you can walk right out and they won't know the difference. 0 Share this post Link to post
mmnpsrsoskl Posted March 26, 2002 Yeah but we are also forced to vote. If you don't, you get fined. Simple. Plus all the candidates are complete idiots...but I suppose you are right... 0 Share this post Link to post

Good point. I'll mite do that if the politicians stop fighting with each other...but otherwise i'll vote for who I think is better. 0 Share this post Link to post
LorD BaZTArD Posted March 26, 2002 ...but otherwise i'll vote for who I think is better. Only problem with that, is they'll all absolute retards. Anarchy would be better than any choice we have :@, ah well, Whats her name, leader of the democrats....she'll do...but only for one reason.. other wise, I wanna nuke parliament....anyone wanna a lend a crazy aussie a Nuke? LorD BaZTArD Posted March 26, 2002 Ah yeah thats right, that's her name.. My second part of the rant, I may of exaggerated a bit, and I don't see a law like that coming here (thank god) but we aren't really that much better. But I still think that *Us* taking over form the states..............will never happen. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doom-Child Posted March 26, 2002 I didn't vote in the last election here because I don't think it's right to vote without at least a better than passing understanding of the candidates and their stances. You can't get that anymore by watching the debates and just "keeping up" with the campaigns. Candidates these days go out of their way to confuse the public and influence them via cheap ploys (like GDubya's "RATS" commercial). What happened to the good old days when you could watch a debate and be guaranteed that at least one person would fall off the podium? DC 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted March 26, 2002 If you did not vote you have no right to critisise anything the government does, sorry 0 Share this post Link to post
Darkstalker Posted March 26, 2002 I'd would vote against it for sure, but it's for American. I just hope it won't get to Canada too. 0 Share this post Link to post
