Uhhh... yeah...

Anyways, I guess the source is available on the id software FTP server. AFAIK this source is Linux only, so you might check out the Boom source, which works under DOS/Win9x.

Well there is good news and bad news about the source.

Good news : I found it. ftp://3dgamers.in-span.net/pub/3dgamers/games/doom2/Thirdparty/doomsrc.zip

Bad news: Its in linux format :( . Here is a link to popular source codes ftp://3darchives.in-span.net/pub/idgames/source/ . The closest thing to original doom is dos doom. It is a source port the is very tweakable. They got doom's sorce code and made it open to win users.

I am just as confused as you are! Purple Monkey Dishwasher. And I was aware Doomworld had a source port section, just not that it had the Doom source code. But now I know.
