Can you do anything about it? (not crucial or anything, but it's slow.) I should be able to add some javascript to rewrite links to things on the same page to just scroll to them, which is basically what the old way did, but it's not a priority. 1 Share this post Link to post
CapnClever Posted March 28, 2017 1 hour ago, Bauul said: ...right now on Android none of them work at all. The backspace key does nothing (it either just closes the keyboard as if there was no text, or bounces the cursor into the quote-box), and there is no delete key. You can't even select the little movement-icon. There seems to be absolutely no way to interact with the quote-box itself, merely the text inside it. The best thing I can come up with is the following (attempted on an Android phone using Chrome): Select some text in the quote box. This will cause the quote box to be "active". Press and hold the drag icon that shows up in the upper-left corner of the quote box. It'll treat that icon as an image, but cancel out of those options. At this point "Cut" should be an available option for the selection. Use that to remove the quote box. You can also press-hold the border of the quote box to select it, but that's pretty precise, which is likely why you were having problems. 0 Share this post Link to post
j4rio Posted March 28, 2017 Could amount of popular now, status updates and file reviews be toggleable for user rather than pre-set? Alternatively, could there be shown about 2 of each, and under them an "expand" button would reveal another 20 or so? 1 Share this post Link to post

Perhaps it's my version of Chrome? I can get as far as point 3, but no "cut" option appears. Basically the whole quote-box isn't being treated as editable content, more just a part of the website. Any time I try to interact with it, Chrome drops out of "editing" mode and back into basic website mode, if that makes sense. I'm on vanilla Android 7.1.1 (which is as up-to-date as it gets, I think). Perhaps there was a recent update that the forum software just isn't compatible with yet. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mechadon Posted March 29, 2017 I'm having an issue with the avatar uploader mangling my animated gif. This is the image I'm trying to upload: However it seems that the cropping tool that pops up after you upload the image causes the animation to become broken (that's my guess anyways). I couldn't keep it because it was a painful flashing mess. Is there any way around this? 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted March 29, 2017 Clearly Imagemagick doesn't like your avatar. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mechadon Posted March 29, 2017 (edited) Any idea why? My previous avatar was animated in the same way and it worked ok. Edited March 29, 2017 by Mechadon 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted March 29, 2017 I am not an Imagemagick developer, so I really couldn't say. 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted March 29, 2017 Fixed I think. The software was using Imagick::deconstructImages() to compress the animated GIF, but that has known problems with transparent animated GIFs. I replaced it with Imagick::optimizeImageLayers() which seems to not fall victim to those same problems. 4 Share this post Link to post

Here's a silly issue, though: There seems to be no way to cancel the edit window. Like, right now, I see the "Submit Reply" button, the "Notify me of Replies button", the Toolbar, etc, but no "Cancel Reply" button. I've been going to another page, then coming back to cancel, but it's just a bit inconvenient. Anyway, that's my silly issue. 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted March 30, 2017 All hitting the reply button does is open the inline reply box. There is no reason you would ever need to close it again. Just don't write a reply, as difficult as that might be. 0 Share this post Link to post
joe-ilya Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) The second reply here (by Dime) links to the same page instead of linking to the highlighted link. 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted March 30, 2017 Yes because somehow he managed to void out the actual link in the link so it just linked to the current page like so http://goatse.cx 2 Share this post Link to post
axdoomer Posted March 31, 2017 (edited) I quoted a post, wrote something, then pressed "Submit reply" and my reply was posted, but the post editor didn't disappear. What I had wrote was still inside the editor. I didn't think it was posted so I pressed the button again and it told me to wait 30 seconds before I could post again. 0 Share this post Link to post

BigDickBzzrak Posted April 1, 2017 So the forum software says that I've given 25 likes today but I have not. Only four. Yesterday, however, I have given quite a few of them. But yesterday != today, dammit! Could that be time zones? Mine is GMT +2. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) If the limit works like "Check the time when you made your 25th-last like, and if it was less-or-equal than 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds before right now, forbid making more likes", then some of your yesterday's likes might still count as today's ones. BigDickBzzrak Posted April 2, 2017 (edited) How does Downloads (the new idgames) deal with updates to already uploaded WADs? Old idgames has the update of my badass level, the new one doesn't seem to. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/j-l/lowmem P.S. if/when you sort it out, please delete my warning-review left on the new frontend. Thanks. ----------------- edit: where are 0-star ratings? Edited April 2, 2017 by bzzrak 0 Share this post Link to post
axdoomer Posted April 2, 2017 (edited) I tried to upload a file and the upload failed. It kept displaying "upload failed" and I couldn't remove it or try to upload the file again. There was a popup saying "There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200". The file was created with 7-zip. 0 Share this post Link to post
BigDickBzzrak Posted April 4, 2017 Try up-voting an answer to a question twice. The number will go to 2, then immediately change to 0, but the number will stay green, so you have to reload the page to give that upvote back. 0 Share this post Link to post
CapnClever Posted April 12, 2017 In the beta files section, in cases where a file has hundreds of reviews, the reviews stop loading properly after some number of pages. Alien Vendetta freaked out on page 12, Scythe on page 8. In these cases, the review tab ceases to exist altogether, and a refresh of the page is required to return it. I also noticed all the "Janurary 1, 1969" review timestamps have been replaced with "Unknown date", which is appreciated. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomGappy Posted April 13, 2017 Creating an account using an e-mail didn't work here. Had to create one using Gmail. Don't know if this is happening to anyone else. I get the check mark on the captcha but it says I didn't complete it when trying to create the account. Also, if you guys don't mind, where should I post sprite projects on this forum? Thank you for the help in advance. 0 Share this post Link to post
42PercentHealth Posted April 14, 2017 There are two things I don't want: 1. Desktop notifications. The little bell icon in the corner is enough. 2. The site asking me every time I load a page if I want to enable desktop notifications. Is there a way to say "no, and stop asking"? 0 Share this post Link to post
