Call of Dooty 2 Not Working

Recommended Posts

OK, I downloaded the Doom mod called Call Of Dooty 2 today. A lot of you should know about it. So, I open the WAD in Doom 2 format and i get this error at the end of the Skulltag prompt:
Script error, "CallofDooty2.wad:DECORATE" line 27:
Invalid state parameter a_setpitch

I am dying to play this but it just wont work, not even if I use Doom 1 format. Can anyone help me? Here are what I have for Doom:
Doom and Doom2
ZDoom
Skulltag
Doombuilder

Please help.

ZDoom 2.6.1 will work because it is recent.

Skulltag will not work because it is ancient. Skulltag's source code was famously ported to C by Jean Francois Champollion, who converted it from an antique printout of a Fortran program created to entertain Ptolemy V.

Silliness aside, whenever you get a "script error" in a ZDoom-family port for a mod that does work fine for other people, check what version you're using. And if you're using Skulltag (or its successor Zandronum, which is a lot more up-to-date because it was transcribed by Howard Carter), then try in a recent SVN build of ZDoom or GZDoom instead.

Your ZDoom is too old.
Get a newer version.

You should change the error messages in DECORATE to actually say this, to spare it from being repeated so often ;)

Sometimes it's just a typo that doesn't actually need a newer version :P

"DECORATE.txt line 200 'aaaaaa' is not a valid actor property."

"Your ZDoom is too old. Get a newer version"

Or something like that.

Yeah, just being facetious ;) It just seems like this ends up being the answer more often than not when these threads pop up. :>
