Who's to say Monsanto aren't already working towards that goal for their own selfish purposes. Consider this scenario - they add a recessive gene or two to domestic livestock and a means to activate it (maybe a change of diet), your neighbor Farmer Brown decides to save a bit of money by switching to a non-approved poultry feed, a couple of days later his barn of free range hens morph into a horde of miniature velociraptors and go looking for fresh meat. 0 Share this post Link to post

The most probable designed outcome in such a case would be for his livestock to get seriously ill or die. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted April 18, 2013 True. They've already developed grains that are virtually immune to specific herbicides, so building in dependencies for other Monsanto products would be a logical next step. Personally, I kind of like the notion of a mighty host of blood-crazed mutant chooks rampaging through rural towns, like a biblical plague with a biotech twist. 0 Share this post Link to post
schwerpunk Posted April 18, 2013 I like GreyGhost's vision of the future better than Maes', because if raptors with psychic powers took over then at least they'd take Monsanto down with the rest of us. Although Maes' seems about infinity times more likely, unfortunately. Stupid reality... 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted April 18, 2013 The real endgame is to make people who eat Monsanto-engineered food get a terrible degenerative disease -- there's a cure, though, a little miracle pill you need to take every day, $1000 each, exclusively sold by Monsanto. 0 Share this post Link to post
