Hawken - A mech FPS

So has anyone given this free to play, semi-twitch mech FPS shooter a try? It's in open beta currently.

Tried it, crappy laptop can't handle it, want to play it. I recently upgraded my ram from 2GB to 3(4, but vista 32bit), so maybe it'd work.

Neat idea.

Not sure how fluently my computer would play it. You don't have to be "hardcore" to appreciate that <60FPS presents problems in a multiplayer game of this kind.

Eh, I play Mechwarrior Online. CoD with robots is hard to do when the framerate dips quite a bit.

Hawken is Good fun. But last time i played it there were some serious balance issues.

I liked Hawken, but it had ~50% chance to crash to desktop on loading a map, from alpha up until the last beta I tried a few weeks ago (tried on two different machines).

I wanted to play Mechwarrior Online so bad, but the controls are impossible for me. I guess because I played so much Mechwarrior 4 and got used to that.

If your compy can handle it, Hawken is a blast. My only real complaint is that lately, I've been having trouble finding a server that's actually populated.
