Plutonia 2 Textures Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello Doomworld.
I have texture problems when running Plutonia 2.
I run it via ZDooM using : zdoom.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file pl2.wad
and my Video Card is : Intel's GMA 3000 on board.
and in the gameplay, Plutonia 2 looks like this :

This is from MAP 24.
I tried to run the pwad from another port and from the doom2.exe directly, but with no luck.
Any ideas?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you supposed to play the plutonia megawads with "-iwad plutonia.wad"? I'd think that would be obvious.

You are right. I tried it and it works. It was pretty obvious but I followed instructions from the internet about zdoom and pl2.
Now via plutonia.wad I cannot recall my savegames.

Wait, there's instructions somewhere to run pl2 with doom2 as the iwad? I wonder how THAT came to be.

In any case, glad to help. You should just pistol-start from map24, it's no big deal. Pistol-starting is fun enough that I wouldn't feel bad about a lost savegame if I were you.

Saves are filtered by IWAD. You could always do something simple like this:

1. rename doom2.wad into something else (like doom2f.wad for example).
2. rename plutonia.wad into doom2.wad

Keep playing your saves. When you have finished the game, give the IWADs their original names back.

Jeeze, I remember having to start from scratch with TNT, when I found out that it wouldn't let me load TNT31.wad when I reached Map31, and the only way I could use TNT31 is if I was using it the entire time (from map01).
