[WIP] SCP-173 Mod and Multiplayer concept

Recommended Posts

I had the ide about a week ago where I wwanted to see a multiplayer version of SCP-Containment breach. Sadly the engine it runs on doesn't support multiplayer, so i took matters into my own hands.

Currently, I have a fully working actor for SCP-173. He chases you when not looked at, and kills you one hit. Scary.

As of now, I'm working on a single player map as official release. Something large, dark, full of mystery and plenty of other SCP's. But for now, I'm just distributing the beta level and actor.

Requires ZDoom 2.7.1

MAP01 is where the single player map is stored, but it'll support multiplayer regardless. MAP15 has been changed to where i removed all the enemy actors and tossed in 173 somewhere.

Have fun?

Also, your own maps are welcome! I plan on replacing and adding as many levels as possible, so the extra help will always be appreciated. If you want to put in 173 yourself, it's actor tag is 1448. Other SCP's are welcome too!

I'm a big fan of the SCP series, and I really like the fact that you're making a mod to place 173 in DOOM. It really adds on to the survival horror factor iD began to go for with DOOM 2.

One little thing, though. When you get Megaarmor, he doesn't one-shot-kill you. Just a little fun fact ;)

Very well executed, I'd love to see a real horror-themed map with him as the only enemy! The invincibility factor he has makes him even more terrifying; he looms, moves fast, and can annihilate you. That's the perfect monster, and I hope to see more from you.

Hey thanks for the support, and I fixed that up real quick.

This looks very interesting, the scp enemy is spot on.
One thing that concerns me is the multiplayer, how are you going to pull this off? Wouldnt it be very one-sided if 1 player could just stare at it while the rest finish the level (If this is co-op/survival were talking about here)?

Other than that, good work so far, i look forward to the finished result

Thanks for the feedback!

At the single player level, I'm going to implement the obvious blink system. I have an idea how I want to implement that, but that will be later. At the multi-player level, I want to do something like random power outages. In the original fan game, 173 is capable of moving in total darkness, so that would work with multiple people. I don't know how i'm going to do that, but I'm pretty damn sure it's possible.
