Maybe I have this wrong but I thought the whole 'Obamacare' is what we here have in IL called 'it is illegal not to have insurance.' Sure IL only had it where you need to have auto insurance, but Obamacare is you need to have health insurance. How is picking your own plan and being forced to pay for it considered communism? Again, maybe I have it wrong.

WI has its state health care for $3 per week or month per person. It gives you doctor discounts, but free ER visits, so people just go to the ER.

See I used to think Obamacare was free healthcare for everyone like certain countries have, but nope gotta pay into it. Its a beautiful way to get money, because if you use the government website to get insurance, the government gets commissions like an insurance agent. Like how Gieko will give you quotes on other insurances and well if you sign up with another insurer, then they get commission. Only the government is doing it on a massive scale. Perhaps the government is waiving commission fees to bring the price of insurance bought via the website down.

I also like how the media blamed Obama for a faulty website enough that he blamed his secretary of something. The woman with grey hair. Well what the fuck does she know about putting together a website? Blame the shmucks that took a year to make a website and still fucking failed at it. Oh then while people play the blame game, wonder why a government website wasn't fully functional after government employees got a 3 week vacation. What do you mean it doesn't work? Well instead of 3 weeks of 'crunch time' we had 3 weeks of vacation instead. ... but again that would be ignoring the fact they had 6 months to a year to get the site running and enough servers to handle 100 million people trying to use it at once. Its like how a mall has plenty of doors, but your house has only 2.

This here is probably the bigger issue atm. Everyone wants to find someone to point at and say "You fucked up", and no one wants to actually fix the problem because it isn't as (something) to their own being. Maybe they figure they can get a promotion if their blaming gets someone else removed or fired.

While the woman Obama blames, she's the one that hired idiots to do the work. Like when people hate elected leaders....

As long as the wealthy need to pay more taxes it's communism. I thought every American knew this already? :P

If it were truly communism in spirit, the healthcare system would be ran and monitored by the government. Since the government is relying on large insurance companies to provide care (and forcing you to fork over money to them), it's more in line of corporatism.

Comrades Americans, let me welcome you to the big family of developed nations! I am happy you have finally embarked upon the journey to better collective tomorrows. Who knows, maybe one day USA will become a proud member of European Union! Work dilligently and your representatives may too sing the European anthem at the European Parliament.

Re: the website fiasco, wasn't that caused by additional last minute requirements for the site functionality? I've read about detailed registration forms that the system wasn't planned for originally.

That is, provided the EU doesn't implode under its aberrant economic policies first.

Hey, I have an idea. What if - hey, bear with me for a second here - what if, instead of having health insurance companies siphoning shit-tons of money out of the system, people's taxes actually just paid for health care? I think I'm on to something here.

Everyone always says the government should completely subsidize healthcare without suggesting a way for such a radical reform to transition smoothly. Even a step in the right direction towards such a system is laden with hiccups and glitches and there's still bitching that there hasn't been a full on reform yet.

Communism is the political ideology that strives for the victory of the proletariat class over capitalists for the control of the means of production. The main goal of communism is to create a world super-state, which would relinquish its power, to create a stateless world ruled by unions.

Socialism is different; it is simply using government power to control a particular aspect of society. But there is no major revolutionary agenda behind it. People that argue Obama is communism are confusing the two terms.

Obamacare is not even socialist, because if it was, private insurance would not be in the equation; it would solely be provided by the state. The Affordable Care Reform Act is actually a quasi-socialist/quasi-capitalist idea. Because it is using government authority to compel private businesses to provide a collectivist (social) need. But obviously, it is quasi in both regards, because the private sector is still involved, and gaining a profit. Nevertheless, it really shouldn’t even matter, because the U.S. has been using quasi-socialist/quasi-capitalist programs since the beginnings of the nation. The U.S. was never a purely libertarian country, even in the beginning; Washington and Hamilton were federalists.

I really don’t have an objection to this, other than requiring small business to do this as well. But personally, I think that it’s going to hurt people more in those small businesses, than help. Because employers may need to lay-off people, or prevent them from expanding, and hiring more. But I think places like CVS, Walgreens, McDonalds, and other larger private companies should provide healthcare to its workers.

Fair enough. I just want Americans to be aware of how thoroughly backward they are.

Calling Obama "far-left" is laughable.

Sometimes I wish there were more directions than left and right. Maybe thats why a country gets no where.

People will always think of ways to label each other. Plus, as long as there's money in politics, stuff isn't ever going to go nearly as smoothly as it should.

Lumping Americans into one group is a fallacy. There are basically two increasingly polarized halves playing a retarded stagnant game of tug of war.

My personal appreciation of modern politics tells me that there's not two different directions, but two different speeds. Both the so-called Left and the so-called Right are in fact going in the same direction (a collision course with a wall), the only difference being that some step on the gas pedal to accelerate, while the others content themselves with dismantling the brakes.

Some could even argue that Marxists and libertarians essentially want to achieve the same thing in the end; a stateless utopia legitimately ruled by the people. The difference is how they plan on facilitating that utopia.

I find it immensely ironic that the page you linked takes minutes for me to load. Also don't kid yourself. If their site got the same traffic and requests in the register forms, it'd evaporate within seconds.
