wad opens in zdaemon, not in zdoom/skulltag

[url=]It's very strange] because it has standard map01 etc markers according to doombuilder, but won't load the maps in a source port, only zdaemon.

For info, I tried renaming the s_skin* lumps to something else just to stop ZDoom recognising them and the first map was able to load. It still showed some problems (unknown thing sprite) but at least it loaded. I didn't investigate the <!> things to see what they were.
