anyway, I used to use 1280x1024 65hz but the hz was too low for me so I went down a res and now I'm using 1024x768 85hz. Much better I believe.

Get a smaller monitor. Or a magnifying glass.

Well, if you can run 1600x1200 with a nice hz go for it!

I'm using 1024x768x16 @ 60Hz right now. I can read it and still have plenty of desktop space.

1600x1200 is the way to go. Too bad I can only use 60 hz instead of the nice and tidy 85.

Hmm, I'm running 1600x1200 at 75hz right now.

When I lived at home, my dad complained that he had difficulty reading the names of files etc. when we had the resolution up too high, so we got used to having the resolution at several notches lower than we could actually have it.

I've got so used to it that I guess that's the reason I only have mine at 1024x758.

No wonder you can't tell your dithering is all messed up.

1024x768 on a 21" is really nice. Works on a 19" too, but, heh, my monitor sucks anyway.

You STILL seem to believe those colors actually exist in the Doom palette. Goddamnit the brown spectre is the way to go, it has plenty of shades. That's exactly what we need for the light variations.
