betabox Posted March 10, 2014 This is my first time trying something like this, so bear with me. I'm trying to create simple signs and/or nameplates to put on walls, doors, etc like you see on office doors or above elevators. I'm looking to put them beside/above the smaller doors, like DOOR1/DOOR3. I found a method used in some WADs to place the signs and it seems really good. What I'm struggling with is making small text that doesn't become blurry/pixelated to the point of being unreadable. I could have sworn I've seen some mods have this, unless my memory is crap. Is it due to the fact that Paint just doesn't cut it? 0 Share this post Link to post
Kappes Buur Posted March 10, 2014 For adding text to an image I always use XnView, eg: 0 Share this post Link to post
betabox Posted March 10, 2014 Thanks. I'll give that suggestion a try, though I'm definitely going make signs/images quite smaller than that. Hopefully turns out fine regardless. 0 Share this post Link to post
RocknRoll420 Posted March 13, 2014 For stuff this small I usually draw the letters pixel by pixel. Doesn't take that long and you aren't tied to a particular font. 0 Share this post Link to post
