No Forward!

It's time to unbind your forward key... You can only run back/strafe. If that's not enough.. unbind your strafe keys too!

So far I've just tried it in E1M1.

UV Max+Items: 2:38
UV Speed: 0:15
UV Speed (blue armor route): 0:21

Maybe I try some other short maps later.

FYI, Espi did E1M1 UV Max in 1:11 with no forward movement and also no strafing. This was a DSF contest that apparently didn't get many entries.

And here is the E1M7 UV Max by cack_handed, mentioned in one of those threads, but also not at DSDA. This also had a "no running" requirement as well as no forward and no straing.

Heh, looks like I wasn't the first to try it... Maybe I try the no strafe at some point, but for now, no forward is enough challenge..

Meanwhile I recorded Dead Simple UV Max. First exit at about the 7th attempt taking 3:05.

wasn't this called like UV-Crab or something (can only move with mouse+strafe?). I remember giving it a try and finding it extremely difficult. Maybe being able to move backwards makes it easier.

My favorite nonsense category is still UV-Tornado, I think :p
