Air control: The best game ever made

And I thought Rock Simulator was bad. At least I tried to call Pebble and Boulder DLC packs for that one.

I'm going to make* Grumpy Old Man Simulator 2014, where you get to throw rocks and goats at people who make forum topics with a link to a video and won't bother to elaborate in text.

*contract other people in India to do it for me, after raising money on a crowdfunding site

Don't forget about the part where you cancel it prematurely and run off with the money!

I've probably told the story several times, but someone paid / didn't pay me to make a game prototype that he used to make $43,000 on Kickstarter. Haven't heard from him since. That was almost 2 years ago in October. All of the Kickstarter updates are stuff he already had.

I laugh at how Kickstarters donate money to people that have never made a completed game before.

There was one guy that just used Serbians to work for him: http://store.steampowered.com/app/243320/?snr=1_237_151__103_2 If I remember correctly its Rekoil.

There was also the guy that funded Jetpack Joyride, cost him $3,000 to have someone else make the F2P game then I think he makes $150,000 per year or something like that. Now the guy does seminars on how you can use people too in order to make money.

That's some pretty dark stuff; never knew the world of crowdfunding could get so shady.

Now I'm looking at a Kickstarter that earned $90,000 basically for a gimmicky premise. Its been 4 months since it was kickstarted. Every update was marred with 'setbacks' and purchasing new equipment. Including a forum that has been down at least a month. Can't complain if there's no where to complain. It will be interesting.

When the game asked for kicksterter, I found a demo. I posted the demo on their greenlight page. The dev swooped in and said something like we didn't want to show the demo, because its a year out of date and its come a long way. I pointed out if it was a year out of date, 'why is every screenshot able to be found in that demo? Makes me think that you had this sitting around a year and you realized you can make money off it. A week later I checked the thread and it was removed. Ah oh well.

Its a cash grab on steam.

On the other side of the coin, people complain about the Nether and Contagion (formerly War Z). Someone out there might actually like these shitty games like I enjoyed Aliens Colonial Marines enough to play through it. Who are we to say what people will like and don't like?
