NiTROACTiVE Posted August 4, 2014 Hey guys, you may have remembered that Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement in September 2013, but now I have some more news. Studio Ghibli is to stop production on films according to this Twitter post. It has a tumblr blog with screen-cap pictures of a broadcast with Japanese subtitles, so if any of you can read Japanese, then you'll see yourself what's happening. People also said that Studio Ghibli was shutting down, but from what we're told, it's not. But it's still sad news regardless. What do you think of this news? 0 Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted August 4, 2014 That's a sad news, i've already read it on various sites and from facebook yesterday (also from "serious" sites like badtaste.it), but i don't read it anything from their official site... so i'm not really sure if i had to trust in this... EDIT: Actually it was just a translation error, it doesn't stop permantely, but just get slower on it's working stuff... 0 Share this post Link to post
Breezeep Posted August 4, 2014 I found out about this first while lurking around Facepunch. At least they will be remembered. 0 Share this post Link to post
Belial Posted August 4, 2014 Too bad, I liked all of their movies that I'd seen. 0 Share this post Link to post
dew Posted August 4, 2014 http://collider.com/studio-ghibli-not-closed/ Seems like the reports of their death have been greatly exaggerated. I can understand that they might need a careful "restructuring" since all three of the founding gentlemen are on the verge of retiring. Let's hope Ghibli won't lose its soul in the process. 0 Share this post Link to post
