[OUT OF PLACE, SORRY] Steam Problemos

Recommended Posts

I'm super-sorry for such an out-of-place problem, but Yahoo Answers simply does not work for me right now. So, copy-pasted from Yahoo Answers' text field:

What I entered as the Title
Steam thinks I've changed browsers and am in Crawley and warns me against playing TF2 because

What I said
So, yesterday, I opened Team Fortress 2 up via Steam and a message appeared in the lower-right corner of my screen, yelling "WEBSITE WANTS TO OPEN APPLICATION ON YOUR COMPUTER".
without thinking, I accidentally clicked on "Block".
Now, Steam thinks I've changed browsers and I had to submit a code it sent to my email, and it thinks I'm... in... Crawley...(?) (I'm not in Crawley and haven't changed browsers or anything.)
And, when I tried to play Team Fortress 2, it said that "data isn't in sync with Steam Cloud" or something like that, and that clicking Play anyway could delete/corrupt game data.

HELP!! D:

And here's the image I attatched:

Again, sorry for such an out-of-place question, but I really need help with this. Thanks in advance!

I think I've had that box prompt before. Hitting Play Game should just the play game. If not, try reinstalling Steam if no better options arise. I think deleteing everything in the Steam folder except for Steam.exe and SteamApps folder and then starting Steam again can fix stuff, but I don't about this.

inb4 "Steam sucks"

I used to have this problem when playing Skyrim for some reason. I obviated it by disabling the sync option.

Hmm... that looks like a catch-all error message. I personally wouldn't worry if you deliberately blocked the sync program from running. It might not save some progress or trophies or whatever you earn while you're not synced. "Corrupted data" is a gross exaggeration.

You have some kind of firewall running on your computer but without more information it's not really possible to know what. You need to find whatever firewall you have installed and check its settings: somewhere there should be the block that you mistakenly put in place for Steam.

Try checking the systray / notification area (little icons in the taskbar at bottom right of the screen)

Well, it doesn't matter now, because I can go on Steam... but on offline mode. because my Cloud data's out of sync. Because it thinks I'm in Crawley.

So I can't do anything.

Steam seems to cause some old games to have more glitches than the original releases for some reason.
